Joe Brown & The Bruvvers - A Picture Of You.

PICTURE OF YOU
(Beveridge / Oakman)
Joe Brown & The Bruvvers - 1962

In the night there are sights to be seen
Stars like jewels on the crown of a queen
But the only sight I’m gonna view
Is that wonderful picture of you

On a streetcar or in the café
All of the evening and most of the day
My mind is in a maze, what can I do
I still see that picture of you

It was last summer, I fell in love
My heart told me what to do
I saw you then on the crest of a hill
And I took a little picture of you

Then you were gone like a dream in the night
With you in my heart, my love and my light
I didn’t know your name, what could I do?
I only had a picture of you

Then you were gone like a dream in the night
With you in my heart, my love and my light
I didn’t know your name, what could I do?
I’ve only a picture of you, oh yeah
That wonderful picture of you
I’m left with a picture of you, oh yeah
That wonderful picture of you

Good morning, WA2K folks. I hope it's a glorious Easter day for all of us.

edgar, Dave Dudley's Girl on the Billboard was a good one. I like truckin' songs. Dear Bobby's The Other Half of Me was wonderful as usual. Jackie Wilson's Tear of the Year was also good.

I guess that Waterloo Sunset was by Def Leopard. Good one.

EuroGeorge, Welcome back. I know the bridge song best by The Kinks. Thanks Irish.

Edgar, Letter to an Angel was perfect for today. Creole Love by that Quintet was a great way to make folks smile.

Don't know Jack Scott's Burning Bridges but I'm certain that everyone here enjoyed it. Ah, dear Garth. Rodeo was fantastic.

Hey, Brit. Take a lot of good photo's and your song, A Picture of You was perfect.

Hope I didn't miss anyone or attach the wrong song with the wrong face. Had a wonderful dinner last evening and ate too much of the wrong stuff.

For the morning, a birthday boy who is a member of Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Happy birthday Doug Clifford.

Happy Easter, everyone! Dolly Parton once performed an Easter song at the Country Music Awards. Although the lyrics are religious, the song has a rousing melody.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. Never heard Fool Fool Fool by "the king" . Good one.

My daughter went to our family cemetery today as well. Lots of vets from my family buried there. Her main reason for going, however, was to put fresh flowers on my son's memorial stone.

Today is Shirley MacLaine's birthday. Ah, I had forgotten the movie Terms of Endearment. Jack Nicholson was great in that one as was she.

First a reminder of that great gal.

Shirley MacLaine (born April 24, 1934) is an American film and theater actress, dancer, activist, and author, well-known for her beliefs in new age spirituality and reincarnation. She has written a large number of autobiographical works, many dealing with her spiritual beliefs as well as her Hollywood career. In 1983, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Terms of Endearment. She is the elder sister of actor Warren Beatty

Now, a tribute.

In those days I looked forward to Shirley's movies. Her later efforts I never watched. Happy birthday anyway.

@edgarblythe,
Love Sam Cooke. One of my favorites by him is Cupid Draw Back Your Bow. Don't know Ain't That Good News, edgar, but love it.

Funny, The only movie that I recall by Shirley at the moment was Terms of Endearment. It was both sad and funny.

Here's some more good news.

@Walter Hinteler,
Walter, Welcome back. Love that one by the Eagles, buddy. Inspired by your trip to Mayerling, I played this on Edgar's Songs that Tell Stories. I also did The Vienna Boys Choir.

Hope Ursula and Big Dice are all right as I sent that one to them as well.

Here's edgar's wonderful discussion.
