edgar, love that one by John. I remember it well. Yours and our Irishman's comments are always appreciated.

Irish, that one by Sinead was great. I found that she had to do that song in secret because it was not allowed to talk about women nor Ireland in a certain manner. Am I right?

Her Lagan love, yawl.

@Letty,
Enjoyed that Letty, Go on! Bridie girl.
Singing of the Ireland of yesteryear.

I caught these guys in Clonmel last Thursday, they were excellent,
had a really good night at their gig. I believe their from Brooklyn.
Great music, which I believe is their own and great performance.
I had actually never heard of them. Brilliant band.

@eurocelticyankee,
Wow! The Wiyos are great. Love both Promenade and Dying Crapshooters's Blues.

Searched again. (love to learn on our radio station)

The WIYOS write songs that are equally influenced by music from the Blue Ridge Mountains and New York City, mixing the more urbane sounds of Django Reinhardt, the Gershwin brothers and Fats Waller with the unrefined country fervor of Gary Davis, Doc Watson, and Skip James.

I liked the old Irish songs, euroGeorge. Why my daddy knew them is beyond me.

I don't think I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen is truly Irish, but it is beautiful.

@edgarblythe,
Just Like Me by Paul Revere and The Raiders didn't have many lyrics, edgar, but I like those guys. Didn't realize that they also did "I'm Not Your Stepping Stone."

Well, Outlook Express is all fouled up, so until it gets a band aid I'll get no messages nor can send any.

Here is my goodnight song. So long ago I awakened in the night singing this one.

So nice to have London and Dublin with us today.

From Letty with love to you all

Hi to all of our WA2K contributors. It's still dark here.

edgar, Loved your goodnight song. I know that Red Wagon, but not Hank Penny. Thanks for the memory.

dj, Welcome back. That was one funny sick note, Canada. Thanks for the smile.

Hey, Brit. Great one by Raphel and he and that stone need to keep on rolling. He paints a picture just as this Raphel does.

my favourite Flanders & Swann song, and a nice companion to last nights tune

The Gas Man Cometh - Flanders and Swann

'Twas on a Monday morning the gas man came to call.
The gas tap wouldn't turn - I wasn't getting gas at all.
He tore out all the skirting boards to try and find the main
And I had to call a carpenter to put them back again.

Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.

'Twas on a Tuesday morning the carpenter came round.
He hammered and he chiselled and he said: "Look what I've found:
Your joists are full of dry rot but I'll put them all to rights".
Then he nailed right through a cable and out went all the lights!

Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.

'Twas on a Wednesday morning the electrician came.
He called me Mr. Sanderson, which isn't quite the name.
He couldn't reach the fuse box without standing on the bin
And his foot went through a window so I called the glazier in.

Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.

'Twas on a Thursday morning the glazier came round
With his blow torch and his putty and his merry glazier's song.
He put another pane in - it took no time at all
But I had to get a painter in to come and paint the wall.

Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.

'Twas on a Friday morning the painter made a start.
With undercoats and overcoats he painted every part:
Every nook and every cranny - but I found when he was gone
He'd painted over the gas tap and I couldn't turn it on!

Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.

On Saturday and Sunday they do no work at all;

So 'twas on a Monday morning that the gasman came to call...

edgar, Yep, Everybody's Somebody's fool. I had forgotten that one by Connie. Thanks again for your comments.

dj, The Gas Man Cometh was great. I remember those plastic things. Well, the tax man cometh today in the USof A.

Today is this child star's birthday. So here is a tribute to her.

@Letty,
Is that your final answer - remember, it don't mean a thing if the lead starts to sing.....

Just doin' my job, ma'am -lightening the place up a little- but if you'll excuse me, I've
