@edgarblythe,
We both adore Mario, edgar. Remember this, "the loveliest night of the year?"

Well, Texas, I don't know Eddie Calvert, but I most certainly know I Love Paris.

Another Paris song. (no, not the County Paris)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbZFDTTevXo&feature=related

and the lyrics as done by( "the chairman of the board)

I never knew the charm of spring
I never met it face to face
I never new my heart could sing
I never missed a warm embrace

Till april in paris, chestnuts in blossom
Holiday tables under the trees
April in paris, this is a feeling
That no one can ever reprise

I never knew the charm of spring
I never met it face to face
I never new my heart could sing
I never missed a warm embrace

Till april in paris
Whom can I run to
What have you done to my heart

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. Don't know Flim Flam Man, but I recall Stone Cold Picnic. What a pity that Laura Nyro died so young.

Saying goodnight with two songs.

First a tribute to America.

Katherine Lee Bates was a professor of English. I truly wish this would have been our national anthem.

And, inspired by a friend.

Nice to have London with us today, but sine the world didn't come to us, we went to the world.

Goodnight to the globe,
From Letty with love

Moving over to the news desk.
With only a few days to go until THE wedding of the year,the groom is told that he is just an ordinary customer and to learn the rules....

Prince William's dinner party turned away in Wales.

http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af138/barrythemod/To%20Forward/Wills.jpg

Everyone wants to get close to Prince William as his wedding approaches — but it turns out the future king can't always get the restaurant table he wants.

William and a group of his friends were turned away from the Seacroft restaurant in Wales on Sunday night because the establishment didn't have room to seat about 20 additional guests.

"The plan was to eat there, but unfortunately they had one of their chefs off sick so they weren't able to cope with the number that we had brought, " the operational commander of William's unit, Squadron Leader Iain "Spike" Wright, said Thursday. "And so we found another location and we moved on."
A local businessman, Jonathan Campbell, 39, said the restaurant phoned the nearby Treaddur Bay hotel to see if they could take the party.
"They thought it was a joke that it was Prince William and his buddies and they had to ring three or four times and say 'no, this is real,'" he said.
But Campbell said he was not surprised the party was turned away from the Seacroft.
"We've got to pre-book, he's got to pre-book," he said. "So it's only fair."
Although residents weren't surprised, Marianne Swanner, an engineer visiting from Orlando, Florida, was shocked.
"In the States, if (President Barack) Obama wants to go there, they'd have let him," she said. "They would have cleared it out and let him in."
The restaurants are near the Royal Air Force base where William serves as a helicopter search and rescue pilot.

Good morning, WA2K folks. (it's morning time in Florida)

edgar, Your Japanese goodnight song was delightful and it made me smile. You hurry back, Texas.

Hey Brit, Ah, I love David Bowie and his Absolute Beginners was great. Scooters? I will tell you more about what a scooter in America is.

Loved Joe Brown's Sea of Heartbreakers as well. Joe's and Mark's discussion was quite informative. Thanks, London.

Oh, my goodness. I cannot believe that Wales would turn the prince and his crew away. Love it!

Christy Moore's Ordinary Man was perfect, Brit. What an Irishman!

Today is Roy Clark's birthday, so here he is playing a great Hispanic guitar.

Here is a song that I remember best by Roy.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar, for the comments and the quartet singing Dust on the Bible. Since I couldn't understand the lyrics too well, here they are.

I went into a home one day just to see some friends of mine
Of all their books and magazines, not a Bible could I find.
I asked them for the Bible. When they brought it, what a shame!
For the dust was covered o'er it, not a fingerprint was plain.

Chorus
Dust on the Bible, dust on the Holy Word
The words of all the prophets, and the sayings of our Lord.
Of all the other books you'll find, there's none salvation holds
Get the dust off the Bible and redeem your poor soul.
Oh, you can read your magazines of love and tragic things
But not one word of Bible verse, not a scripture do you know.
When it is the very truth, and it's contents good for you.
But it's dust is covered o'er it
And it's sure to doom your poor soul.

Chorus
Dust on the Bible, dust on the Holy Word;
The word of all the prophets, and the sayings of our Lord.
Of all the other books you'll find, there's none salvation holds
Get the dust off the Bible and redeem your poor soul.

Oh, if you have a friend you'd like to help along life's way
Just tell him that the Good Book shows a mortal how to pray
The best advice to give him that will make his burdens light
Is to dust the family bible trades the wrong way for the right

Chorus
Dust on the Bible, dust on the Holy Word
The word of all the prophets, and the sayings of our Lord.
Of all the other books you'll find, there's none salvation holds.
Get the dust off the Bible and redeem your poor soul.

Also enjoyed Doris and Buddy's Powder Your Face With Sunshine. Thanks, buddy.

Today is the "Little Tramp's" birthday. I recall the movie about him by Robert Downey, Jr.

Here's another smile.

I have an elderly friend who raved long about Chaplin. So I loaned her my video tape of one of his movies. She was in heaven, after she got her son to play it for her on his TV. I liked him very much young, but lost interest in his older self.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, fantastic one by Nick Drake, but once again you sent me searching.

Nicholas Rodney "Nick" Drake (19 June 1948 – 25 November 1974) was an English singer-songwriter and musician. Best known for the sombre pieces composed on his primary instrument, the guitar, Drake was also proficient at piano, clarinet and saxophone. Although he failed to find a wide audience during his lifetime, Drake's work has gradually achieved wider notice and recognition; he now ranks among the most influential English singer-songwriters of the last 50 years.

Hard to believe that he died at 26, Texas.

Loved that one by Cat Stevens, and the visuals were awesome. Had some difficulty hearin him sing, however. It may be our speakers.

Well, Someday the world we use to know might return.

This is different and I think the classical piece at the end is Clair De Lune.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I had to smile at Billy Boy. I used to sing nursery rhymes to my kids all the time. The beginning of your video sounded jazz like. Love it.

Here's another, Texas.
