@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments, edgar. That must have been a hobo song, but it sure doesn't sound like Gene Autry, buddy. Loved it, however.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with Debussy.

My Personal Revenge

(MI VENGANZA PERSONAL)
by Luis Enrique Mejía Godoy

(English)

My personal revenge will be the right
Of our children in the schools and in the gardens
My personal revenge will be to give you
This song which has flourished without panic

My personal revenge will be to show you
The kindness in the eyes of my people
Who have always fought relentlessly in battle
And been generous and firm in victory

My personal revenge will be to tell you good morning
On a street without beggars or homeless
When instead of jailing you I suggest
You shake away the sadness there that blinds you
And when you who have applied your hands in torture
Are unable to look up at what surrounds you

My personal revenge will be to give you
These hands that once you so mistreated
But have failed to take away their tenderness
t’was the people who hated you the most
When rage became the language of their song
And underneath the skin of this town today
Its heart has been scarred forevermore

It was the people who hated you the most
When rage became the language of their song
And underneath the skin of this town today
Its heart has been scarred forevermore
And underneath the skin of this town today
Red and black, its hearts been scarred
Forevermore

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar. I had the wrong Jimmy. Was thinking of the Honeycomb one. Great one by the Dixie Chicks, Texas. Cowboy, Take Me Away was great. You hurry back. It's Saturday!

Welcome back, Francis. Love that one by Joan, and thanks for the English translation.

Two songs for the morning, yawl!

First, Softly As in the Morning Sunrise.

The "Misty Miss Christy"

Listening to the theme from Mutiny on the Bounty, and it is fabulous.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iJqovhVpnM&feature=related

In English

Come with me to the islands
Come my love, follow, follow me

Under the lure of pure enchantment
Love will unfold her golden mystery

All night long I will hold you
Till the stars slip into the sea
I'll weave a crown of rainbows in your hair
Many a moon I'll spend with thee.

Love is waiting; follow, follow me
Love is waiting; follow, follow me

@edgarblythe,
We always appreciate your feedback, edgar. Thanks again.

Love that song, and Johnny Mathis really did a wonderful rendition of it.

Hmmm, Here's a new voice on the horizon. Today is Erykah Badu's birthday. So let's hear one by her.

Did I hear somebody say Johnny Cash's birthday? He would have been 79.
This was not his first record, but it was the first one I heard on my local station

@edgarblythe,
I never heard Erykah before, edgar.

Ah, the Cash man. I love that "Don't Forget to Give my Love to Rose".

First one that I heard by him was the theme to Johnny Yuma.

Here's a great one by a fabulous foursome.

Michael has been around a while now, with lots of success.
Dean Martin sings a song written by Fred Rose. Fred wrote and published lots of country music. He, Hank Williams and Jimmy Rodgers, were the first three artists to go into the country music hall of fame.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the info on Take These Chains From My Heart, edgar. Never heard that one done by Dean.

Cat Stevens' song Father and Son was fantastic. Made me think back a bit.

Saying goodnight with two songs.

First, Kenny Loggins. (inspired by rockhead's funny commercial)

Now, John Denver.

I watched a movie starring Will Smith and his son tonight. Wish I had caught the title. It was a heart breaker.

What a fool believes and what one man can do are very good songs. I never had heard John Denver do the latter.

@Barry The Mod,
Sounds like it. It was a true story of a man trying to make it with Dean Witter and selling bone scanners on the side.
