Ah, another afternoon session.

Hope edgar's daughter has signed, sealed, and delivered! Razz

Hey, Chicago, if Billy Sunday couldn't shut down Chicago, surely snow can't do it either.

Today is Langston Hughes birthday, and he is one of my favorite poets. Here's a tribute to him.

@edgarblythe,
One more or so and you will have a fairly decent football team in a few years. Congrats.

The Rolling Stones - Dead Flowers.

Well when you're sitting there in your silk upholstered chairs
Talkin' to some rich folks that you know
Well I hope you won't see me in my ragged company
Well, you know I could never be alone

Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave

Well when you're sitting back in your rose pink Cadillac
Making bets on Kentucky Derby Day
Ah, I'll be in my basement room with a needle and a spoon
And another girl to take my pains away

Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave

Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the U.S. Mail
Say it with dead flowers in my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave
No, I won't forget to put roses on your grave

Good day, WA2K folks.

Loved Goodnight Johnboy. Remember that from a long time ago. Toby Keith was good as well, Rock.

Hey, Brit. Loved that cockney Grandad. Dead Flowers was one that I haven't heard by The Rolling Stones. Good one as is Joe Nichols' Gimme That Girl.

Don't remember Scott Walker, but I recall the movie Wait Until Dark with Audrey as a blind woman. Thanks for the memory jog.

McTag, I just found out that MGM has recovered from bankruptcy. Fabulous musicals

Ah, y'all didn't check out my tribute to Brandon Lee and Langston Hughes.

To match McTag's, I have noticed that there are those who are touting the music of the 60's.

and for our Chicago friends, an oldie by Frank Sinatra.

I love Langston Hughs, letty, but I don't pay attention to Bruce and Brandon's films. Not that I don't like them, I just ain't interested. Smile

@Letty,
I agree with a number of choices about the best such songs of the 60s, but I have a list in my head that is a bit different.
Frank's Chicago is a classic.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments on what we play here, edgar.

That one by Langston Hughes is like "...a song that tells a story..."

Wow! That Romanian sounding song by Shantel is fantastic. Amazing that he was born in Germany and was a dj, yet does such great gypsy music. Thanks for the introduction.

Today is Graham Nash's birthday so here is one by him.

Graham Nash does not seem to get the recognition the rest of the groups' members have enjoyed. But he is a good musician in his own right.

Here's some Waylon Jennings
