@edgarblythe,
A great tribute to Linda by The Stone Poney's, edgar. Glad that you liked Deborah Harry's Heart of Glass.

Quote for the day:

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.
Henry David Thoreau

Just put a wreath on my door, y'all, so let's hear this one, ok?

@edgarblythe,
Loved Dave, edgar, and once again you sent me to the archives.

Dave Van Ronk (June 30, 1936 – February 10, 2002) was an American folk singer, born in Brooklyn, New York, who settled in Greenwich Village, New York, and was eventually nicknamed the "Mayor of MacDougal Street."

He was an important figure in the acoustic folk revival of the 1960s. His work ranged from old English ballads to Bertolt Brecht, blues, gospel, rock, New Orleans jazz, and swing. He was also known for performing instrumental ragtime guitar music, especially his transcription of the St. Louis Tickle and the Maple Leaf Rag.

Thanks for the introduction, Texas.

Never heard It All Depends by Jerry Lee. It was great, and Conway Twitty's version of The Rose, was haunting, but the singing truck did bring a smile to my face. I think that was written about Janis Joplin.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, Michael Buble.

Now some beautiful music that calms the soul.

Goodnight, world.

From Letty with love

I like Silent Wings. It's new to me. Buble does The Way You Look Tonight pretty well.
Here is a different version of Golden Ear Ring.

@edgarblythe,
While edgar's away, Miss Letty will play. Razz

Wow! That version of Golden Earrings by Hikari was fantastic, Texas.

The lyrics:

There's a story the gypsies know is true
That when your love wears golden earrings,
He belongs to you.
An old love story that's known to very few,
But if you wear those golden earrings,
Love will come to you.

By the burning fire,they will glow with ev'ry coal.
You will hear desire whisper low inside your soul.

So be my gypsy;
Make love your guiding light,
And let that pair of golden earrings
Cast their spell tonight.

A little more jazz, y'all.

I've Got My Love and Baby Its Cold are a couple of good standards. The local Christmas music station keeps adding the latter into the play list lately.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks once again for your comments on what we play here.

That theme to the movie Philadelphia Story was excellent as done by Neil. That film was both sad and triumphant, Texas.

Here's a tribute to a birthday boy who is still with us.

Guess who. All things being considered, I think I would rather be in Philadelphia. Razz

@edgarblythe,
I was so caught up listening to Chopin's nocturne (the music behind Plummer's tribute) that I almost missed your Green Fields by The Brother's four. Love that song, edgar.

Never heard Chad Mitchell and John Denver's For Baby. Awesome, Texas.

I figured that you'd get W.C., buddy.

Here's Nancy with one of my favorites.

@edgarblythe,
Leonard Cohen should be in the same category as the mystic poets, edgar. Always love what he does, but never quite understand his meaning. Thanks, buddy.

My router or whatever its called went down. Had no internet for quite a while.
I suppose I ought to know the one singing about Manhattan, but she is new to me. Reminds me of Lady Day.
