Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, loved your goodnight song by Jackie Wilson. Hurry back.

Hey, Brit. Raphel's Big Easy and Johnny's Rock and Roll Christmas were great. You hurry back as well.

Hey, Irish. America is forbidden to see your RIP John.

Today is Kirk Douglas' birthday, so here is a tribute to the man who is still with us.

@Letty,
That's a pity, letty. It was Woman by John Lennon. I'm sure you could get it somewhere on youtube.
Here's Cathy Davey singing Little Red, instead. Bye for now. xxxxx

Hey, Irish. Love that one by Little Red. Somehow the chord structure reminded me of I Will Follow You by Ricky Nelson. Thanks for the introduction.

Hey, Brit. I had no idea that there really was a Strawberry Fields. Those guys sound a lot like the Beatles, incidentally.Thanks for the song and the info.

Well, what a surprise. Just found out that it's Jakob Dylan's birthday. Somethin wicked this way comes? Nope! Something good this way comes.

@Letty,
I Made Myself A Snowball

I made myself a snowball,
As perfect as could be,
I thought I'd keep it as a pet,
And let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas,
And a pillow for its head,
Then last night it ran away,
But first - it wet the bed!

@eurocelticyankee,
Great, Irish.Love the line.."but first it wet the bed...". When I was a kid we use to write new lyrics to old songs all the time

There's no business like snow business
Like no business I know.

Everything about it is appealing,
Everything the public will allow

Nowhere can you get that freezing feeling
You get from stealing that extra plow.

They're no people like snow people
They smile when the temperature's low

One day they will tell you
You will not go far.

Next day you open,
And there you are

You have slowly melted
But you're still a star

Let's go on with the snow. Razz

@edgarblythe,

Aretha Franklin, who has been suffering from a previously unknown illness, is "doing better than doctors expected" and should be released from the hospital this weekend, a cousin says.
Brenda Corbett tells the Detroit Free Press that "[Franklin] has a long life in front of her and will be back in concert, on stage, late spring or early summer."
The statements come a day after another relative told Fox 2 Detroit that Franklin has cancer. And though the type of cancer has not been confirmed, The National Enquirer reports that the Queen of Soul has incurable and inoperable pancreatic cancer, and that doctors made the diagnosis after she broke her ribs in a fall over the summer.
In November, the icon's publicist announced that she had canceled all her performances through May 2011.

RELATED: Recovering Aretha Franklin Visited by Rev. Jesse Jackson

On Dec. 2, the singer said she was doing well after having an operation for an unspecified ailment. "The surgery was highly successful," Franklin, 68, said in a statement. "God is still in control." The surgery followed a community prayer vigil in Franklin's hometown of Detroit the previous day.
Rev. Jesse Jackson visited Franklin in the hospital days after her surgery and told The Detroit News that she was "recovering" and in high spirits.
The family also said that, at this time, she is doing "okay," but they ask for continued prayers.

@edgarblythe,
Welcome back, Texas. You sent me to the archives again.

The Easybeats were a rock and roll band from Australia. They formed in Sydney in late 1964 and split at the end of 1969. They are regarded as the greatest Australian pop band of the 1960s and were the first Australian rock and roll act to score an international pop hit with their 1966 single "Friday on My Mind". The Easybeats manager was former Sydney real estate agent, Mike Vaughan.

The band's line-up exemplified the influence of post-war migration on Australian society. All five founding members were from families who had migrated to Australia from Europe: lead singer Stevie Wright and drummer Gordon Henry "Snowy" Fleet were from England; rhythm guitarist George Young was from Scotland; lead guitarist Harry Vanda and bassist Dick Diamonde were from the Netherlands.

Don't know them, but I loved the song. Thanks once again for your comments, buddy

Today is Beau Bridges' birthday so here is a tribute to him, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Don't know Walk Like a Man, Texas, but I vaguely recall The Four Seasons. Thanks, buddy. Remember Sea Hunt? Razz

For some reason, your song by The Four Seasons brought Janis Ian to mind.

Now I remember, edgar. Frankie Valli did Can't Take My Eyes off of You. The Lettermen did that one as well. Really liked My Eyes Adored You.

Today is John Malkovich's birthday. I recall this movie, buddy.
