@edgarblythe,
Thanks once again for your comments, edgar.

Today is Judd Nelson's birthday and I cannot think of a better song to play than the one from The Breakfast Club.

@Francis,
What a lovely song, Francis. It led me to remember this legend.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fC1foEV365Y&feature=related

Tristan und Isolde (Tristan and Isolde, or Tristan and Isolda) is an opera, or music drama, in three acts by Richard Wagner to a German libretto by the composer, based largely on the romance by Gottfried von Straßburg. It was composed between 1856 and 1859 and premiered in Munich on 10 June 1865 with Hans von Bülow conducting.

Wagner's composition of Tristan und Isolde was inspired by his affair with Mathilde Wesendonck and the philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer. Widely acknowledged as one of the peaks of the operatic repertory, Tristan was notable for Wagner's advanced use of chromaticism, tonality, orchestral colour and harmonic suspension.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks again for your comments on what we play on WA2K.

Loved your Hosanna theme, but don't recall the movie.

Another movie theme, y'all. Watched it last evening. Still adore Kevin Anderson.

@Letty,
I've never seen that movie, Miss L. I'll have to add it to my queue. I haven't seen "King of Kings" either.

Here's another one.

@edgarblythe,
Ohhhhh.... that got me to thinking about The Fortune Cookie, which we watched recently, and that got me to thinking about Cookie's Fortune, which I haven't seen in ages. It's a fun movie with a great soundtrack. Here's the trailer and one of the songs.

Wow! You are on a roll today, Mz Squirrel. Didn't see The Pianist, but it did inspire me. (more about that later)

I do know Mission Impossible, The Godfather, and The Last Mohican, but not Cookie's Fortune.

edgar, I recall The Apartment and love that theme from the movie.

Here's my inspiration from The Pianist, JPB.

The Pianist is an incredible film in many aspects. Roman Polanski's account of the survival of the pianist, Wladyslaw Szpilman, is a document about how one man can overcome the worst possible situations in a world gone completely mad around him.

Here is the song to which they refer as the last one

Daniel Day Lewis is a marvelous actor. Loved him in The Gangs of New York.

Cellos are among my favorite instruments.
