@edgarblythe,
er, edgar, I do believe I've heard better by the Fab Four. Razz

I only played Natasha because it was her birthday.

Well, these Beatles aren't flying, but...

Another Linda, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Fantastic, edgar. Both Billy and Nat died too soon.

A couple of songs for this evening.

First, one to match yours, buddy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BDyW5WEJWg

and I just found out that Nat sang with Ted Heath's orchestra.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zxsRnUKdvI&feature=related

and the lyrics.

We'll have manhattan
The bronx and staten
Island too.
It's lovely going through
The zoo!

It's very fancy
On old delancy
Street you know.
The subway charms us so
When balmy breezes blow
To and fro.

And tell me what street
Compares with mott street
In july?
Sweet pushcarts gently gli-ding by.

The great big city's a wonderous toy
Just made for a girl and boy.
We'll turn manhattan
Into an isle of joy!

We'll go to yonkers
Where true love conquers
In the whiles
And starve together dear, in chiles

We'll go to coney
And eat baloney on a roll
In central park we'll stroll
Where our first kiss we stole
Soul to soul

And "my fair lady" is a terrific show they say
We both may see it close, some day

The city's glamour can never spoil
The dreams of a boy and goil
We'll turn manhattan
Into an isle of joy

I know that Manhattan song by someone else, possibly Sinatra or Tony Bennett. It's a good one anyway.
Lloyd Price - First noticed him when he did Stagger Lee, but found I knew some of his music from early Elvis (Lawdy Miss Clawdy). I used to collect his records. Most of my 45s were lost over the years.

@edgarblythe,
Great one by Buddy, edgar. Strange here's one by a lady that matches both Nat and Buddy. The same canuck that introduced me to Diana Krall also introduced me to her.

Thanks again for your comments and info, Texas.

@edgarblythe,
You have to hear Holly Cole's cover of the Beatles' I'm Only Sleeping, so laid back it's upside down. I guess I'll have to make my own video and stick on youtube.

@edgarblythe,
Well, edgar, glad that I could introduce you to Holly. Listen to hingehead. Razz

Loretta Lyn is great with I'm Proud to be A Coal Miner's daughter. Thanks for the memory. When I was in high school, I knew a lot of coal miners and they were not very well respected.

The tragedy of the New Zealand coal miners from methane gas, reminds me that the old timers use to carry a canary to detect it.

Time for me to say goodnight, and although I have done this one before, I'm gonna do it again.

Old news made new dept:

Willie Nelson was busted at 9:00 AM at a Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, TX. Nelson was in his tour bus, traveling from California to Austin, when he was detained.

He was booked into the Hudspeth County Jail on a $2,500 bond and posted shortly thereafter.

@edgarblythe,
Morning, edgar. Had no idea that Sam did Mona Lisa. Only heard it by Nat. Don't blame you for not wanting to dance in the moonlight or the morning sun either

Today is Jimi Hendrix's birthday. What a sad situation concerning his death.

Two songs by the man, y'all.

First something purple.

It wasn't the first time. Razz

Good morning everybody. It's the kind of day makes one want to jump out of bed, go "Brrrr-r-r-rr" and jump back under the blankets. JImi Hendrix's version of Dylan's All Along the Watchtower was Dylan's favorite version of it. Being honest, I don't listen to him often.

@edgarblythe,
Fenario by The Journeymen is fantastic, edgar. They are truly great. (didn't know that about Willie Nelson, Texas) Thanks, also, for the Watchtower info.

Another Peggy, y'all. I think this guy was one of The Platters, but not certain.

Nearly 20 years after Garth Brooks struck gold with his No. 1 hit "Unanswered Prayers," he has turned it into a TV movie. The film premieres Monday, Nov. 29 on Lifetime Television. (Nov. 26)
