@edgarblythe,
Love that one by Neil Sedaka, edgar. He is fantastic. Thanks.

Funny, Texas. I don't remember one thing about the movie, just the music.

Here's a surprise, y'all, it's Alphonsus Cassell's birthday. He's known by his stage name of Arrow. Don't know him, but he is fantastic.

We'll dedicate this to Barry the Brit as well.

@edgarblythe,
The Old Revolution by Leonard was, of course, great, edgar. I've been trying to find which revolution it was, however. He is a multifaceted man.

Incidentally, Arrow's was a new one to me as well.

Here's a surprise. It's W.C.Handy's birthday so Natalie is going to do one of his most popular songs.

We sang so much about rain that Thor heard us and I believe that we're going to get a bunch of it here. Razz

I've been looking over the song list for songwriter, Fred Rose. He wrote and co-wrote many recorded songs. There were a number of hits among them. Here is one of his compositions, sung by Willie Nelson

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment on Natalie and St.Louis Blues, edgar.

I really love Willie Nelson singing Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain. Thanks for that one.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs, y'all.

First, since it's Clu Galager's birthday, he stars in a great movie called The Virginian.

And an oldie called Strange Music to my Ears. Don't know James Melton, but he does a great job with this one.

Nice to see other countries with us tonight.

As always,
From Letty with love

@Letty,
My good night song is by Herb Jeffries

I recall Clu in the Virginian.
I don't know James Melton, but his voice reminded me of Herb Jeffries.

edgar, Flamingo by Herb was fantastic. Loved the visuals as well, Texas. Dear Elvis and G.I. Blues was great, too. Thanks, buddy.

Hey, Brit. Al knows how to get us up and about. That song stirs the feet and has the right beat. Thanks, London.

Today is Gordon Lightfoot's birthday, so let's hear about how the rails helped establish our continent.

Good afternoon, all. Hmmm I didn't feel a woosh, so our Brit must still be here somewhere.

Hurry back, edgar.

I remember this song because the melody goes up the scale, then back down again. Here it is in English and in Spanish, y'all.

First, Paul

@Letty,
Gordon Lightfoot to me is first a writer and then a singer.
My Heart Sings hearkens to the days when I bought Paul Anka's 45 singles every time he released one.
Enrique is new to me. Still a good song.
Now, Pat Boone

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I never paid any attention to Paul until you told me that he had rewritten the lyrics to My Way. Didn't even know there was a French version. Now he's better than I thought he would be, buddy.

As for the Lightfoot man. Didn't know he wrote songs. Learn a lot from you, Texas.

Why Baby Why by Pat isn't bad, but I've heard him do better. Still stunned that he did Anastasia.

How about a Paper Moon, then. Love this by Natalie and Setanta knows it as well. Razz

Paper Moon is one of those wonderful songs that never gets old.
Paul Anka also wrote the opening music for Johnny Carson's Tonight Show.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again, edgar, for the info on Paul. Yep, poor Natalie has hepatitis C now. God love her.

That Four Strong Winds by The Kingston Trio was awesome. I listened twice. I think that it's the gentle sound of their voices.

Here's a surprise. I had no idea that The Smothers Brothers were such fine vocalists.

One to match yours, Texas.

Yeah. My mom and some of my siblings used to get the Smothers Brothers albums and play the grooves off of them.

Here is Mario and friend (forgot her name Embarrassed )

@edgarblythe,
I wouldn't have known her name if you spelled it out for me, edgar.

Had no idea that Mario did Blue Skies. I think the only one that I ever heard that one by was Bing Crosby.

Did you notice that Mario almost missed a beat on that one, Texas?

Speaking of grooves, I recall firefly having done this one.

@Letty,
I have a very good vinyl album by Bobby Darin, in which he does a wonderful version of Blue Skies.
Funny thing about Feeling Groovy is, Paul wrote it and he and Art made this top notch record, but somebody else had the hit record of it.

Well, a royal wedding is soon to take place. This song is dedicated to their happiness. Wink

dys: I like the song you played.
