@edgarblythe,
Love What a Difference a Day Makes by Dinah, edgar. Thanks again for your comments on what we play here.

I didn't know Andrea either, but I liked the jazz version of that song. Lady Day sang it as well.

Remember the movie The Godfather? This guy, who was Johnny Fontaine, was supposed to represent Frank Sinatra.

George and Tammy

I've always liked Al Martino and that song. Didn't see the Godfather films.

@edgarblythe,
I got a mite tired of mafia films after awhile myself, edgar. I saw the first one cause I was a Marlon Brando fan at the time.

Loved Tammy and George doing My Elusive Dreams. Their harmony together was good.

Today is Ike Turner's birthday, and although he was not very good to Tina, here is a tribute to the man.

@Letty,
I love to watch Marlon Brando act. Which is not to say I like all of his films. It would take a long time to come up with a list of his really good films. But it just takes a minute to list the ones I don't like.
Ike, I assume, paid for his faults. I am not inclined to kick him.
Here is a live Diana Ross.

@edgarblythe,
I never cared for The Supremes, edgar, but when Diana Ross did The Billy Holiday story, she was fantastic. Loved that one by her. Touch Me in the Morning was excellent.

Thinking about pop songs based on classical music right now.

First the classic.

Now, dear Perry Como.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mci1xkJWIu4&feature=related

He also did Til The End of Time based on Chopin's Polonaise as you already knew.

@Letty,
That song and Perry's song are good ones, letty.
I don't recall Vance Adair. He could do a credible imitation of Sinatra if he wished to do so.
Long ago, we was fab - - -

Now a great jazz song with lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_O6lbLxSI2g&feature=related

I remember you,
You're the one who made
My dreams come true
A few kisses ago.

I remember you,
You're the one who said
"I love you, too," I do.
Didn't you know?

I remember, too,
A distant bell,
And stars that fell like rain
Out of the blue.

When my life is through,
And the angels ask me to recall
The thrill of them all,
Then I shall tell them
I remember you

Another great Johnny Mercer one.

Ah, everyone is out somewhere having fun on the weekend.

Glenn Frey is great, letty. I Remember You is also a great song.

While serving in the Navy's boot camp at San Diego, I went around singing to myself for the first week. It caused some to look at me questioningly. This was the song I could not get out of my head.

@Izzie,
Loved The Girl from Yesterday, Izzie. As a matter of record, I love most of The Eagles' songs. I liked the visuals, hun.

You are a pearl of the pink kind.

Oh, my goodness. That chewing gum painting was awesome, Brit.

Izzie, Loved your superduperstitious video and music. Thanks for the comment on the history lesson.

Well, our Brit is going to take the train to blackheath to see the fireworks. Great.

Ah, fond memories of the LSO in Daytona beach. I do recall going to the lobby at intermission and having champagne. Some dude spilled his down the sleeve of my dress. Rolling Eyes Still have that dress.

The last train that I took was AMTRACK. It was awful!

Perhaps, the next time, I should go with The Monkees.

Hope this one works. I keep getting the lagoon. Just in case; it's the last train to Clarksville by The Monkees.
