@Francis,
I still get a smile when I recall my friend Al's construction worker referring to Bizet as a bidet. He pronounced the "t" as well.

My daughter is flying down today, and since it's Helen Reddy's birthday, this is a good song for the occasion.

Happy birthday to Helen - so long as she isn't singing I Am Woman. Smile

@edgarblythe,
Love Bobby Rydell's We Got Love, edgar.

Inspired by you, buddy.

Richard Wright:

The crow flew so fast
That he left his lonely caw
Behind in the fields.

I used to think that a murder of crows meant killing them.They are the Einstein bird.

Unfortunately, I always remember Brandon Lee as well.

Regardless of what others may think, I still believe that Brandon and Bruce were assassinated.

I have saw The Crow.
(I have no theories on their deaths)

Back in 1967 or so, my older brother used to drive over to Bandera to hear Arky Blue sing in his bar. Come to find out, Arky has a few youtubes.

I have a friend who wrote a novel titled Wounded Crows Don't Fly - about estranged brothers and how the one that left the farm came home to stay.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, what fond memories you must have about Arky Blue, edgar. His song is typical of those who are married and yet love someone else.

Hmmm, Wounded Crows Don't Fly? That sounds interesting.

Here's another "somebody done somebody wrong songs." Razz

Arky Blue opened for business some time after my last visit there. I was off to California, while my brother stayed around that part of Texas.

I know that song Al sings, but somebody else. Can't recall whom.

Got some Tony Martin

I recall one episode on the Martin and Lewis radio show, in which Tony Martin and Dean Martin held a crooning contest. It was all in good fun and no real winner was declared.

@edgarblythe,
Well, edgar, you sent me searching again. Loved that song by Sylvia.

Sylvia Jane Kirby (born December 9, 1956, in Kokomo, Indiana) is an American country music and country pop singer and songwriter. More commonly known by the singular name Sylvia, she enjoyed crossover music success with the song "Nobody" in 1982.

Strange. The last phone call that I got was from a politician. Hmmm. Wonder where JL is? Razz

I can imagine that Deano and Tony would compete and that neither would win.

Here's another duet by Bing and Perry. Neither one beat the other.

I like Bing and Perry equally. Those are some great songs in the video. I like the easy humor between them.
Well, Shelly West wants to tell us about a friend of hers

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar I love Jose Cuervo by Shelly. There was a fun guy on abuzz by that name. He, MassCass and I had a ball there. He dropped in here for a while but never came back.

Well, we know the dangers of straight shots with limes and salts, but here may well be another problem. Razz

Another Jose.

I once hitched a ride with a guitarist for this next artist. The man said, "You wonder how I can afford this car? I play guitar for Trini Lopez."

@edgarblythe,
You hitched a ride with the right guy, edgar. Loved that one by Trini. I used to rename that song and call it: If I had a hamster. Razz

Here's another fantastic Spanish guitar, and this time it's a classic. Mozart's Turkish Rondo.

Maybe they can get enough money from their performances to afford a second guitar. Jorgan just needs one to get all this sound.

@edgarblythe,
Well, Texas, you sent me on another search. Apache was great. Wonder what kind of guitar that was?

Jørgen Ingmann (born April 26, 1925) is a musician from Copenhagen, Denmark.

He worked with Svend Asmussen, the jazz violinist, during the 1940s and part of the 1950s.

During the late 1950s he changed his stage name to Jørgen Ingmann and his guitar. Under this name he recorded "Apache" in 1961, which charted at #4 in Canada, #2 in the United States and #6 in Germany. He remade Silvana Mangano's "Anna" with moderate US chart success. In the first half of the 1960s he had many hits in Germany like "Pepe" (1961 #15), "Anna" (1961 #19), "Violetta" (1962 #16), "Drina Marsch" (1964 #5) and "Zorba le Grec" (1965 #14)

Amazing. I never think of Denmark that I don't think of hebba and this guy.

Dave Clark Five

October 25th 1964, The Rolling Stones appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show in New York. A riot broke out in the studio and Sullivan was quoted as saying, “I promise you they’ll never be back on our show again.”
