Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning

Sunday morning rain is falling
Steal some covers share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road get up and go if I knew
That someday it would bring me back to you
That someday it would bring me back to you

That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on sunday morning
And I never want to leave

Fingers trace your every outline
Paint a picture with my hands
Back and forth we sway like branches in a storm
Change the weather still together when it ends

That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on sunday morning
And I never want to leave

But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
Sunday morning rain is falling and I’m calling out to you
Singing someday it’ll bring me back to you
Find a way to bring myself home to you

And you may not know
That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow?

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, loved your goodnight song. I have always liked Sarah.

Boy, our Brit was one a soul train kick last evening, with one exception, and that was a brief interlude of disco. Smile Love it and thanks, buddy.

Had to check out your morning song, however, and found this info.

Maroon 5 is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. While they were in high school, vocalist and rhythm guitarist Adam Levine, keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, bass guitarist Mickey Madden, and drummer Ryan Dusick formed a garage band called Kara's Flowers in 1995 and released one album in 1997. They reformed, with guitarist James Valentine, in 2001 and pursued a new direction as Maroon 5. The following year they released their debut album Songs About Jane, which contained four hit singles: "Harder to Breathe", "This Love", "She Will Be Loved" and "Sunday Morning"; it also enjoyed major chart success, going gold, platinum, and triple platinum in many countries around the world.

Thanks for the introduction, BTB.

Another desert day, folks. Hope we'll get rain without the wind, however.

How about some America.

Well, it is Gerry Beckley's birthday, after all, so since the performance was in the U.K., we'll dedicate that one to you, Barry.

Thanks again for the comment, edgar, and I love Ventura Highway.

Today is Barry White's birthday, so here is a tribute to that great man.

@edgarblythe,
Don't know Jerry Wallace, edgar, but here's a little info on the man, y'all.

Jerry Wallace (December 15, 1928 – May 5, 2008) was an American country and pop singer. Between 1958 and 1964, Wallace charted nine hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including the #8 "Primrose Lane." He made his debut on the country music charts in 1965, entering it thirty-five times between then and 1980. In that timespan, Wallace charted within the country Top Ten four times. His only Number One was "If You Leave Me Tonight I'll Cry," a song which gained popularity after it was used in an episode of the TV series Night Gallery.

Is that the right Jerry? Love his voice in that song I'll Get to You.

Another Jerry, Texas. (no, not "jerry mander"Smile)

@Letty,
I had read somewhere that Jerry was Canadian, but I could have gotten some bad information. Well, Jerry Reed tried to do them all, looks like.
Well, Johnny Burnette sings about the One-Eyed Jacks

@edgarblythe,
Wow, Don't know Johnny Burnette but I love his voice in the song about One-Eyed Jacks. I'm assuming they are sinister people.

Another, John?

The only time that he won an academy award.

Here's Glen Campbell singing the theme from True Grit.

@edgarblythe,
You are right, edgar. Glenn was a superb singer, but NOT a very good actor.

Loved The Ballad of Lucy Jordan by the "hook doctor". It was rather sad, but at least Lucy could dream about a sports car and France.

Your mention of "Jordan" reminded me of another fabulous singer with a fantastic education. The last part of this song is funny. Let's listen to Paul Robeson.

Yeah. Paul Robeson was a superb singer and much more. I like everything I hear from him.

Ida Red, now, is something else to consider.

@Letty,
They call him O'Henry's Robin Hood of the old west. But O'Henry wrote about a vile outlaw. The only close connection is the title. I listened to the Cisco Kid on the radio for years. Near the end of the show's run, the actor who portrayed Pancho died. Mel Blanc took over the role, as cousin Porfirio. In the final season, Mel played Pancho. I only got to see the TV show four or five times.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks for that explanation of O' Henry's epithet for The Cisco Kid. I read almost of of his short stories and loved them, but I don't recall that one. His oddest one was The Furnished Room.

Thanks again for your comments which I have come to value.

I had forgotten Sam Cook's Memphis, Tennessee. Love that one, buddy.

Bet you know this guy. Today is his birthday.

@edgarblythe,
Sammy Kaye? My word, you sent me to the archives. Don't know Moon Love, edgar, but I recall this one because so many vocalists have done it.

My two older sisters were fans of Sammy. I'll have to check with them.
