@Barry The Mod,
Well, our Brit has climbed the apples, but still like to acknowledge his music.

Liked the Roof Top Singer's Walk Right In, and I certainly know Charade, and Henry's little daughter did a great job. Never heard her before.

Today is Tony Bennett's birthday, so here is a most unusual tribute to him.

Oops, somehow I got Jim Lowe's Little Man in Chinatown confused with Jim Lowe's Green Door. Sorry, Texas. I like that one by Jim also.

Today is Leon Uris' birthday, so let's listen to the theme from Exodua.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVZpeNGFrB8

The lyrics:

This land is mine, God gave this land to me
This brave and ancient land to me
And when the morning sun reveals her hills and plain
Then I see a land where children can run free.
So take my hand and walk this land with me
And walk this lovely land with me
Though I am just a man, when you are by my side
With the help of God, I know I can be strong.

[brief instrumental interlude]

Though I am just a man, when you are by my side
With the help of God, I know I can be strong

To make this land our home
If I must fight, I'll fight to make this land our own
Until I die, this land is mine.

I wonder if Monica Mancini is related to Henry.
I like Exodus theme, letty. Never have yet seen the movie.

When I get started listening to Tony Bennett, it's hard to stop. I play his CD of greatest hits frequently driving to work.

It took a bit of listening to be certain that Earth Wind and Fire song was a Beatles song. It was. Joke: Do you like Earth, Wind and Fire? Yes? Then you will love my wife's cooking. Very Happy

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments, edgar. Funny tag about the wife's cooking Yes, that's Henry's daughter, and she also does a lot of Johnny Mercer songs as well.

I love The Happy Wanderer, and here are the English lyrics.

I love to go a-wandering,
Along the mountain track,
And as I go, I love to sing,
My knapsack on my back.

Chorus:
Val-deri,Val-dera,
Val-deri,
Val-dera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Val-deri,Val-dera.
My knapsack on my back.

I love to wander by the stream
That dances in the sun,
So joyously it calls to me,
"Come! Join my happy song!"

I wave my hat to all I meet,
And they wave back to me,
And blackbirds call so loud and sweet
From ev'ry green wood tree.

High overhead, the skylarks wing,
They never rest at home
But just like me, they love to sing,
As o'er the world we roam.

Oh, may I go a-wandering
Until the day I die!
Oh, may I always laugh and sing,
Beneath God's clear blue sky!

Here's one by John Denver that I have never heard before, folks.

I have come to respect John Denver - Far out. Good person, great artist.
The charm of this next one is not the music, but the dancing old man -

edgar, Don't know Van Dyke Parks. Thanks for the introduction. (I think) Smile

Welcome back, dj. I certainly know that one by Dr. Hook. Dedicated it to Dutchy because he is now wearing an eye patch.

Dr My Eyes is one of my top favorites. It made me a fan of Jackson Browne. I like Dr Hook very much also.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I had forgotten about Our Day Will Come. Like that one, Texas.

Love Sunny and Marvin Gaye did that one as well. Sorry about Bobby Hebb.

Speaking of Sunny and sunshine. How about Stevie Wonder, y'all.
