@edgarblythe,
Wow! Willie was broke? Love that one by Rusty, buddy.

Sorta reminds me of

I hate to see,
That evenin' sun go down.

I won't go there, however. Smile

How about some Quincey Jones.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SYguRO_qf0&feature=related

I like the jazz version, but like the lyrics also, so here they are.

My mama done tol' me, when I was in knee-pants
My mama done tol' me, "Son, a woman'll sweet talk"
And give ya the big eye, but when the sweet talkin's done
A woman's a two-face, a worrisome thing who'll leave ya to sing the blues in the night

Now the rain's a-fallin', hear the train a-callin, "Whooee!"
(My mama done tol' me) Hear that lonesome whistle blowin' 'cross the trestle, "Whooee!"
(My mama done tol' me) A-whooee-dah-whooee o' clickety-clack's a-echoin' back the blues in the night
The evenin' breeze will start the trees to cryin' and the moon will hide its light when you get the blues in the night
And take my word, that mockingbird’ll sing the saddest kind of song, he knows things are wrong, and he's so right

From Natchez to Mobile, from Memphis to St. Joe, wherever the four winds blow
I’ve been in some big towns and I heard me some big talk, but there is one thing I know
A woman's a two-face, a worrisome thing who'll leave ya to sing the blues in the night

My mama was right, there's blues in the night.

Blues in the Night is a lifelong favorite of mine.
It's a might early perhaps. Here are the Rascals, nevertheless.

@edgarblythe,
Love that by Beautiful Morning by The Rascals, edgar. Will check back with you later on the Songs That Tell Stories, buddy.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with Matt Monroe.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkVKKiAeOjw&feature=related

Anyone remember the movie? I just recall Audrey Hepburn and handsome Cary Grant. Alfred Hitchcock loved him as an actor.

Goodnight, world.

From Letty with love

Lonely Soldier.

Lonely Soldier go home,
Lonely, but never alone..
Good eyes, see nothing to shoot
Good feet, feel good, givin' up good boots

Ask your father how'd you fall
Ask your father how'd you fall
Like a leaf, sitting on the ground
Good for nothing, except kicking around..

She died with her hand stretched out
She died with a hungry mouth
She died with her mind full of doubt
and thought of weakening..
And so may your river never dry
May your mouth never lie
May you be satisfied to never know why
Sometimes, someone just wants to die...

Where did you get those cuts on your hand?
I thought I told you bout playin in the sand
There's always someone careless with glass
There's always questions no one won't ask

She died with her hand stretched out
She died with a hungry mouth
She died with her mind full of doubt
and thought of weakening..
May your river never dry
May your mouth never lie
May you be satisfied to never know why
Sometimes, someone just wants to die...

So Lonely Soldier go home,
Lonely, but never alone..
Good eyes, see nothing to shoot
Good feet, feel good, givin' up good boots

Good morning WA2K folks.

edgar, liked your goodnight song. Please Mr. Sun was great. Hurry back, Texas.

Endy, Love that one by the Fab Four. Not to worry, I'm going to make a sad song better this A.M.

Hey, Brit. What a delight to see Kaleb on Izzie's boat. Nothing makes me smile like the face of a new born.

Don't know Peter Roe, but his song Found the Love was perfect.

Good grief, Brit. That version of The Man I Love was, shall we say different?

Damien Rice's Lonely Soldier reminded me of another lonely soldier. "...I'm just a soldier, a lonely soldier..." Need to check that out.

When I first saw my son, his tiny mouth was in the shape of an O and his hair was just a dark fringe.

Nothing is more heart warming than the face of a new born.

Perry Como sings it right.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I love that song. Old dogs, and Children, and Watermelon Wine. The old dogs reminds me of my mutt Janie.

Well, Texas, we are the world; we are the children.
