Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, Wow! Great one by that Guthrie lad. Thought only Willie did that one.

Well, our Brit is back with a fantastic jazz artist. Never heard Kurt Elling before. Both songs were awesome, London. Love the way he phrases. Thanks for the introduction. Hmmm, what key are we talking about? The key to your heart, your music? Smile Hope it's not a skeleton key.

Two songs for the morning, y'all.

Today is Deborah Harry's birthday, so first one by her when she was with Blondie.

Now, one by my favorite female artist, 'cause everything is lookin' that way for a lot of us.

Arlo made the original hit recording of City of New Orleans at least a few years before anybody else.
I like Blondie's hits enough, I have a CD of them. Good one by Diana.

Good morning, y'all. We had just a few very light showers last night. But the temperature was lower than it has been.We just live too far from the coast to benefit from a situation like Alex. I heard that some people died when the storm blew a wall on them. So even a lesser hurricane cannot be lightly dismissed.

edgar, loved Don't Let the Rain Come Down by The Serendipity singers. Thanks, Texas. Of course we all know that serendipity means looking for one thing and finding something better.

Hey, Brit.Great one by Manu Dibango. His last name rather reminded of Bingo Bango Bongo I don't want to leave the congo. Smile Remember that one? Thanks for the introduction, London.

Another birthday boy, y'all.

@Ragman,
Ragman, welcome back. I had no idea that Danny and the sisters sang that. Isn't it fabulous, and so true. I had a discussion with a couple who had just gotten back from Hawaii, and went on and on about the negative effects of missionaries in the beautiful islands.

I was just getting ready to play this one on edgar's discussion about songs that tell stories. Deep sea divers just recently found it's bell.

@Letty,
hi Letty...thanks...so much.

I've a pretty good memory for tunes so when I saw that phrase, it triggered my You-tube hunt. I had a memory of Spike Jones (who may have done it too) or a type of song which he'd have done. Then a memory came to me of someone else ('50s) doing the tune.

The two Dannys, Ackroyd and Kaye, are both great in their own way. I always though Ackroyd's talent was under utilized. I liked the video about the Andrea Doria, letty.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the comments, edgar. How many songs have been written about the Titanic, I wonder? That one by Woodie was the first, I'll wager.

Inspired by my AC worker whose first name is Sergio, I decided to take us on a trip to Brazil.

Hmmm. Hope this works, y'all.

I love this band Wild Beasts, both the leads voices blows me away and at total opposite to vocal range,
I imagine a English dance club in the 20s where we have just been introduced to the Charleston, and drink our French absinthe, plumes of smoke coming from foot long ivory cigarette holders. Pearls mused in the teeth by a Lady who looks like Josephine Baker wearing elbow high black satin gloves.

This song is a threat to my arid eyes and sanity.

Absolutely blows me away.

Always reminds me of these;

All my best,

Welcome back, s.s. Wow! Those Wild Beasts can be dangerous, Brit. I will say this. You painted a beautiful picture of the roaring twenties, buddy. They were quite different in those four songs, however. Better watch out for Queen, cause "another one may bite the dust" Smile Thanks for the introduction.

edgar, as you know I really love Cougat and Brazil. Thanks, Texas.

Three more dogs, and although they can be wild sometimes, not so in this one.

And a fantastic song by Josephine Baker. She was awesome, flapper dance and all. What a lady and what a voice.
