@edgarblythe,
Good afternoon? Not here in Florida.

Thanks, edgar for the comments on the operatic version of your man Jackie.

Also enjoyed Martin Short giving his funny version of Bette Davis. Yep I still would like to visit the Nile, too.

How about a little of the classics today on WA2K.

Today is Leonard Whiting's birthday and that made me think of Romeo and Juliet so we'll listen and decide about three of William Shakespeare plays. Hamlet was his worst, methinks.

First, R &J. (most of the actors wanted to play Mercutio.)

Now Julius Caesar. (we'll dedicate this to our man from Wales)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8In6OXgtRE

Finally, a combination of MacBeth and Hamlet.

I like the music of Romeo and Juliet. The Marc Antony is credible. I love Gielgud. My least favorite Shakespeare play is As You Like It. It is rife with memorable quotes, but the overall play just doesn't do it for me.

This from the Black Crows, now.

@edgarblythe,
Don't know The Black Crows, edgar, but that North Country song was great. Thanks for the introduction. Hmm, checked out As You Like It. Don't think I read that one by the Bard.

Here's a surprise. Perhaps our Rockymoose will like this version better.

It's a good song, regardless, letty.
As a boy I worked in the California cottonfields. So did this guy -

@edgarblythe,
I didn't know they had cottonfields in California, edgar. That was a good one by Merle, buddy.

Here's one by Brook that explains about the Bole weevil. Smile Doing this from memory, but I think Eli Whitney didn't make his bucks on the cotton gin, but in making interchangeable parts for rifles. Will check it out later, however.

I love that guy's records letty.
Brook was a songwriter before he became a star. He offered It's Just a Matter of Time and Endlessly to Nat King Cole, but the official at his record company convinced him to record these songs himself.

He died of spinal meningitis, in 1988.

@edgarblythe,
Had no idea that Kay Kyser did Spurs that Jingle Jangle Jingle. Thanks, Texas.

About Brook and his problem.

Meningitis is a disease that causes inflammation of the membranes covering the spinal cord and brain. There are two types of meningitis such as Bacterial meningitis and Non-bacterial meningitis. Bacterial meningitis is also known as purulent meningitis and non-bacterial meningitis is known as aseptic meningitis. Actually, to make our medical report short today, it's viral and bacterial meningitis; viral is the deadly kind.

Here's one by a group called Spinal Tap. It funny now, but as a kid I would have been scared to death.

They are building a new overpass where the railroad crosses a street I drive. The stage of construction at present resembles Stonehenge.

@edgarblythe,
I listened twice to Montana Sky, edgar. It was beautiful and the visuals awesome. Thanks, buddy.

Thinking of stones, the most fabulous stone masons in the world were the early Italians. In a small town in Virginia, every other house/church was done by one man. Those are some of my fondest memories as a child.

Today is Susan Hayward's birthday. Without checking, I think she did a movie about a woman who was executed by an old and terrible gas chamber. Need to look that up.

I caught part of that movie on TV several months back. Had bad reception and had eventually to turn it off. I have liked most of her performances.

Welcome back, Rockymoose. Now that song by Pete is one that I CAN dance to now. Great rock and roll, old time and all.

edgar, really enjoyed that one by Neil Young. What irony! It's the hurricanes that replenishs the earth with water, and at the same time, makes us head for "shelter from the storm"...shiver.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I was so impressed with Jerry Reed's fantastic acoustic guitar ability, that I think I shall let him say goodnight for me.

I love the way he does Jim Croce.
