I am a proud father. Never knew my own, but that's another story for another time.
I like the Lionel Richie song. I think Lionel is a super good guy.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar. I did miss that lovely song by Judy Collins. Made my dry eyes moisten a wee bit, buddy. Needless to say, I didn't sleep well last evening.

Thinking of Santa Tomas e Lucas today.

From Jim Croce to you Dan.

@JPB,
JPB, Welcome back. We've missed you here. Love that one by Cat Stevens, and the father on that wonderful video gave good advice. Love it.

Actually, As I said before going to bed, my TV was out and it usually puts me right to sleep as so much of it is boring. Smile

My older sister sent me a photo of my father in his WWI uniform and he looked so solemn. He and my brother really had a strong likeness. I'm doing some retro guessing here, but it seems he was eternally trying to please my dad, and never quite did.

Thinking of Dave, too, but with fond memories of his love for The Doobie Brothers, so how about one by them.

Long Train and Jim Croce are very good for the occasion, as is the Cat Stevens song. I just got off the phone from a long conversation with my daughter from Denver. She wants to come visit next week. And I got an email from my son. He may make it over today.

@edgarblythe,
ah, I love gospel songs, edgar, and that one was great. So glad you heard from your daughter and son. That's the kind of music we REALLY like to hear.

Another "train" song by Jerry Lee, folks.

edgar, I had forgotten Lavendar Blue. Thanks for the memory, Texas.

Hey, Brit, Welcome back. I've been following all your fun on Izzie's ship, but I often get confused and lost in the shuffle.

Ah, Thank you for that one, honey. You are such a dear as was my Dave. (most of the time)Smile

I wanted to put up the photo of Mountain Lake where the original Dirty Dancing was partially filmed, but I'll do that later.

Well, we have to recognize Errol. (in like Flynn) so here's a tribute to the birthday boy.

On this day in history, Lizzie Bordon was acquited in the murders of her parents. This video is a tribute to her. It is not the popular song we associate with her.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! thanks for that tribute to Lizzie, edgar. I think I saw a movie about her, but I can't recall one thing about it. Noticed that she was acquitted of both crimes, however.

Here's another tribute to a birthday boy, Chet Atkins.
