Good morning WA2K radio folks.

Hey, Brit. Sleep well. Loved Tom and Marilyn's Up Where we Belong. There's a place here called Osprey Point, but you got to watch them birds as they'll drop a fish or two on your car if you chance to be driving underneath them. Had to do some research on Terandot, buddy.

Turandot is a Persian word and name meaning "the daughter of Turan", Turan being a region of Central Asia which used to be part of the Persian Empire.

In Persian, the fairy tale is known as Turandokht, with "dokht" being a contraction for dokhtar (meaning daughter), Puccini died before he completed the opera

edgar, The Lord Randall spoof was funny. Thanks for the early morning smile. Your goodnight song by Bobby is one of my favorites, of course.

A couple of songs for the early morning, y'all.

First a tribute to Henry Fonda as today is his birthday.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wmg6Gvn8FnA

Now a great concert by a group of notables who are singing to protect the rain forests.

If I were pressed to pick a favorite actor, it would be Henry Fonda. Technically, there are doubtless better actors, but he's my sentimental choice. Will be back later, as I have to go to the job today for a meeting with the owners. First, this day in history.

@Barry The Mod,
Hey, Brit. Clever of Connie. One of the kids took a photo of me recently and called it Pretty Woman.

Today is Pierce Brosnan's birthday, so here is a tribute to him. (incidentally, just found out that Steve McQueen did the original Thomas Crown Affair; more about that later)

The song, Windmills of my Mind may have been inspired by McQueen's flying of the glider, folks.

I enjoyed the fencing duel performed by Pierce Brosnan in his last film as James Bond:

@wandeljw,
Welcome back, wandel. I didn't see Die Another Day, buddy, but that was a great sword fighting scene; checked out the soundtrack and found this song among them.

Read most of Ian Fleming's books but I still prefer Sean Connery's portrayal.

Thanks again for the comments, edgar. Let Your Love Flow was great, and Up Where We Belong was one of Buffy's better songs

Don't know Zoot Money, but I certainly know Zoot Sims, Rocky.

Great jazz man, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
A great tribute to Natalie, edgar. The last movie she made was Brainstorm filmed in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She drowned before completion of the movie, and that is still a cold case file. I was surprised to find that the LSO did one of the pieces on the soundtrack.

A tribute for Sunday, y'all.
