On another thread, I attributed this to Art Blakey. But I was thinking of "Moanin'"

Ramsey Lewis, of course.

First allow me to say that edgar's Napoleon Crossed the Rhine by an Irishman was great. Thanks, Texas.

McTag, welcome back. Hey, buddy, I know that spiritual Wade in the Water and Ramsey Lewis did a great jazz version of it.

Loved the pun on Three Blind Mice by Johnny Dankworth. Don't know him, but I recognized some of the swing era songs.

Ah, Izzie. We have missed you, hun, and The Pogues doing Danny Boy was great. You'll have to remind me of who the Bosun is, gal. Where's Barry the Brit, anyway?

Soooo, we have a Frenchman on the German Rhine; A spiritual ; and mice doing jazz . Love it!

Here's another Monday song, y'all. Hugh does more than just being a house doctor.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, that Sundown song by Slim Willet was funny, somehow: "bop to the beat that all the cool cats play". Seems to me that the crooner did one about Sundown, but I'll have to check that out.

Time for me to say goodnight and I think that I shall do so with Harry and Lena.

Was gonna do Go Down Moses by Paul Robeson, but decided against it.

Goodnight England, Texas, and the rest of the world.

From Letty with love and a slight sunburn.

Goodnight, edgar. Loved Brenda Lee's Fly Me to the Moon. Had no idea that she sang that, Texas.

Good afternoon, Brit. Wow! Love that Tuesday afternoon by Moody Blues and although I don't know Lipstick traces by Benny Spellman, it was nice to awaken to his music this AM in Florida.

Had no idea that Julie London sang Blue Moon. Thanks again, Brit.

Today is Irving Berlin's birthday, so here is a lesson in history about the talented man.

Also, decided to play Let My People Go by Paul Robeson. What a voice!

I knew many of Irving's songs, before I knew who he was. Great body of work. I also appreciate that song by Paul.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again, my Texas friend. TTH , the Brit's asleep. Hope he'll be back later to exchange moody blues ideas with you.

The following songs are inspired by our dj and Barry the Brit's "angel" reference.

First, and the angels sing.

@edgarblythe,
Well All Right, buddy. edgar, I think you and Don were the first to introduce me to Buddy Holly. Thanks for that one.

Here's a tribute to Natasha Richardson, y'all. What tragedy in the Redgrave family. Today is her birthday.
