I saw Georgy Girl in Kansas City, 1969, I think. The song stays with one better than the film.

@edgarblythe,
Never heard that one by Bobby Hebb, edgar. He sounds a lot like Stevie Wonder, right?

Speaking of which, let's listen to the "wonder man."

@edgarblythe,
My goodness, Dean was good on that one, edgar. Never heard Going Back to Huston.

Shucks, I was going to make it a sonny day(not sunny; cause it's dark here)

Let's do it anyway. Here's Marvin to sing Sunny, and it will be my goodnight song.

Letty, this is the first version I heard of Sunny. Was surprised when Bobby Hebb's record became the hit.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, I had no idea that Sonny and Cher did that one. Thanks, buddy. Your New Morning by the "jester" was fantastic.

Hey, Brit. Really enjoyed the music by Sonny and Mark, but Cannibals Night in London? Tried to ascertain the meaning behind that song. Hope they didn't mean squirrels.

I have been doing more research on The Kent State anniversary. I know the one by Neil Young, but found out that others have done it as well. Even Dave Brubeck wrote one. Sorry, but I can't find his; however, let's begin the day with that fabulous jazz man.

I admire Brubek, letty. Don't have his albums anymore. Don't know where they went. Hmm.
My wife loves Randy and his record.
Also appreciate barry's music.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments on Randy and Dave, edgar.

Don't know that one by either Eddie or John. Did find out that Eddie is a member of Pearl Jam, however.

Tell our listeners and you later about our having met Dave Brubeck.

Found another Sunrise Sunset, incidentally. This one is in French with translation, and is from Fiddler on the Roof. Gave me a smile, because it matches my two kids.

Here is Bob Wills in a film that was shown between movie features. His original record of San Antonio Rose sold two million copies. It had no fiddle in it.

@edgarblythe,
I certainly know that song, edgar. I often get Bob and his group confused with Sons of the Pioneers. Thanks for the memory. My mom loved them.

Today is Audrey Hepburn's birthday, so here is a tribute to that lovely lady and great actress.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, that is a dear song by Bobby and his boy, edgar. Now I remember him. He did Detroit City. Thanks for the reminder.

I now certain that I saw Audrey and Cary Grant in the movie Charade, but is was an Alfred Hitchcock production with music by Henry Mancini. Loved the theme from it, however. Here's my favorite bus driver to do it, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Always love Jerry Lee, edgar, and Matchbox was great. Thanks again for the introduction and the comments.

Great one by Bret and I'm glad he's home, Texas. Every Rose Has its Thorn was a good one. (nope, not gonna say "I'm just glad that thorns have roses")

Speaking of introductions, y'all. Here's a lady that is new to me. Today is her birthday.

Pia Zadora (born Pia Alfreda Schipani, May 4, 1954) is an American actress and singer. After working as a child actress on Broadway, in regional theater, and in the film Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964), she came to national attention in 1981 when, following her starring role in the critically mauled Butterfly, she won a Golden Globe Award as New Star of the Year.

When her film career failed to take off, she became a singer of popular standards and made several successful albums backed by a symphonic orchestra; as a singer she earned the respect of critics who had previously written her off.

Here she is with a great golden oldie.
