meself and the lady Diane watched a movie last night "Crazy Heart" mostly filmed in Albaturkey/Santa Fe and Espanola New Mexico, but the film also brought to mind some music.

this tune composed by T-bone Burnett was the award winning theme from the film

which brought to my mind Jerry Jeff Walker

Especially enjoyed Rye Cooder dys, and our Rockman did the Blue Car again.

Well, folks, there's Paris Texas and then there's London Kentucky.

Creedence, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Never heard Thirteen Moons, edgar. Takes some racing to keep up with them orbs, Texas.

Many years ago a guy I used to know said:

80,000 people at the Kentucky Derby and every one of them was drunk.

Today is Rita Coolridge's birthday, and I love the mix here, y'all.

Don't know how many remember Dorothy Provine. She died this past week. She starred in some TV series (Roaring Twenties, for one) and appeared in That Darn Cat and It's a Mad mad mad Mad World.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Loved Drift Away by Dobie Gray, and Tony and Stevie were great. "...for once in my life I have someone who loves me..."

I saw Mad Mad Mad Mad world, Texas. Don't recall Dorothy Provine, however, but feel down about her death.

Had to go to the archives once again. Here's the trailer for that funny movie.

@Francis,
Hey, Francis. I didn't realize that Shirley Bassey did the theme from Love Story. Strange about that movie. It's the only time a book was written to promote a film.

Incidentally, the surviving members of Mad Mad Mad Mad world are as follows:

As of the end of April 2010, the surviving main cast members are Sid Caesar, Mickey Rooney, Jonathan Winters, Peter Falk, Carl Reiner, Marvin Kaplan, Barrie Chase, Stan Freberg, Jerry Lewis and Nicholas Georgiade.

Shirley is a great artist. I liked the song much more than the film.
