Francis, Welcome back. You sent me searching again. I saw the Fifth Element but couldn't remember much about it. That song by Inva was fantastic. Funny, I do remember Chris Tucker saying, "Korbin my man". He is a funny guy.

edgar, What a great song by the Ink Spots. I Cover the Waterfront is a wonderful classic. Thanks for the comments, too.

Guess we ought to do April in Paris now. Love this jazz version.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, the days of the teen idols, edgar. Don't know Jimmy Clanton, but Venus in Blue Jeans was delightful. Thanks for the introduction.

You know, y'all, I got to thinking about Chris Tucker and remember him in The Rush Hour movies with Jackie Chan.

This one is funny.

Took me a second to place Chris Tucker, but I really like both him and Jackie.
I thought of this Glenn Campbell song while walking in the park today.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, that is the most beautiful song by Glen Campbell that I have ever heard. Today is Mine is a new one to me, and I thought that I knew them all. The visuals were calming as well, Texas.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with Jim Croce.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzEL82YprAo&feature=related

He borrowed his idea from this man.

Stone walls do not a prison make,

Nor iron bars a cage;

Minds innocent and quiet take

That for an hermitage;

If I have freedom in my love,

And in my soul am free,

Angels alone that soar above

Enjoy such liberty.

Richard Lovelace 1618 - 1657

Well, it was nice to see Germany and France with us today.

Goodnight world

From Letty with love

Good morning WA2K folks.

edgar, Loved Harry's The Drummer and the Cook! "...bow wow wow?..." funny.

Also enjoyed Forever Young. Didn't know that "the jester" had done that one.

Hey, Brit. Hmmm, couldn't get Susan's sound, nor Caterina's either, but I most certainly know Malaguena and The Breeze and I.

St. Louis Blues came through loud and clear. Don't know Ottilie, but she sure could do the blues.

A great discovery today, y'all. It's Zubin Mehta's birthday. Here is a brief background on him.

Zubin Mehta was born into a Parsi family in Bombay (now Mumbai), India, the son of Mehli and Tehmina Mehta. His father Mehli Mehta was a violinist and founding conductor of the Bombay Symphony Orchestra. Mehta is an alumnus of St. Mary's (ISC) High School, Mazagaon, Mumbai and St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. Zubin initially intended to study medicine, but eventually became a music student in Vienna at the age of 18, under Hans Swarowsky. Also at the same academy along with Zubin were conductor Claudio Abbado and conductor"pianist Daniel Barenboim. Mehta's first marriage was to Canadian soprano Carmen Lasky in 1958. They have a son, Mervon and a daughter, Zarina. In 1964, they divorced. Two years after the divorce, Carmen married Zubin's brother, Zarin Mehta, now the Executive Director of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. In July 1969, Mehta married Nancy Kovack, a former American film and television actress.Mehta is a permanent resident of the United States, but retains his Indian citizenship.

A great classic by the man.
