@edgarblythe,
I never saw that film either, edgar. It's just something that I came across while searching for Gore Vidal. Damn. That man is still alive. I think he did Victor Victoria. Sure do miss Lightwizard. He would know for certain.

Ah, love the theme to the Monkees, buddy, and Riders of the Storm I never heard by The Doors. Light my fire and When You're Strange are the only ones that I recall.

Going to say goodnight with two songs. First, the Dells who combine two of my favorites. (never heard of the Dells either; it's been serendipity day for me)

Now Ray. This one was inspired by your rainfall.

Goodnight to all, wherever you are

From wikipedia

The screenplay of Victor Victoria was adapted by Blake Edwards (Andrews' husband) and Hans Hoemburg from the 1933 German film Viktor und Viktoria by Reinhold Schünzel. According to Blake Edwards, the screenplay took only one month to write. There was also a 1935 remake named First a Girl, made in the United Kingdom and directed by Victor Saville, about a woman who stands in for a female impersonator and becomes a hit. Julie Andrews watched the 1933 version to prepare for her role.[1]

Good morning WA2K folks.

edgar, Loved that one by Jerry Reed. Hallelujah I Love Her So is one of my favs. Thanks for the info on Victor Victoria. All new to me, Texas.

Hey, Brit. Songdog's "Song for Five String Guitar" was lovely, and Heather Small's "Proud" a great song and tour of the London Marathon.Amazing that the guy in the wheelchair and his determination to be the best that he can be.

recognized Big Ben and Greenwich. (I think)

Today is Luis Miguel's birthday, and although I don't know him, this is a lovely song, y'all.

Incidentally, it looks as though Discovery's return will be delayed due to rain and NOT ash from Iceland.

The Bible version of this was read at my older brother's funeral, in 1969. It is appropriate to the present, for a number of reasons.

@edgarblythe,
I recall your having said that "To Everything Turn, Turn, Turn" was sung at your brother's funeral, edgar. Rather reminds me of Life's Railway to Heaven, buddy.

Didn't know that one by Brooke Benton, but I love his Rainy Night in Georgia.

All I know about my brother are the things that he sang. That's still strange to me. He was in the signal corps, and I chanced upon some of his letters that were mostly written to my dad. Soldiers who were musically talented did well in that branch of the army.

It took my nephew seven years to get his medals, and they had a memorial service for him at our family cementery.

Here's ONE of the songs that I recall.

He also did South of the Border Down Mexico Way.

Frankie Laine. I saw this film as a kid. At the time, I found it boring.

Hope the Rolling Stones lyrics did not offend.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I wanted to comment on Judy Drowned. Love it by Harry, buddy. Especially like the way he pronounced that word.

The Beast of Burden didn't offend me. Was it supposed to? I don't hear any phones ringing to protest it, anyway.

Leonard Cohen does his thing again. Tonight Will Be Fine is one that I've never heard, buddy. Thanks for the introduction.

Didn't know that Frankie ever did a movie, but I love the song, "Sunny Side of the Street."

Time for me to say goodnight, and I had forgotten what a great group The Ames Brothers were.

My goodnight song, folks.

I like everything the Ames boys have done, letty.
The version of Judy Drownded was not the same one I was searching for. I like that one, but the original album cut is my favorite.
Here are some other brothers
