@Barry The Mod,

My goodness, that's good, Baz.

She was great, wasn't she, before she mucked herself up?

Just the same, I'm a wee bit uncomfortable about hearing Dinah Washington and Billie Holliday (as by Alison Moyet, that Old Devil Called Love) coming out of an English girl, undiluted.

Alison Moyet's version of that even used the original band arrangement. At least Jools Holland gave the credit, in his intro.

Good morning, Brits. Amy and her song Teach Me Tonight reminds me of the old days when boards were black. Strange how one so young could be addicted. I guess being in the lime light does odd things to people.

Checked out Alison Moyer, McTag, and found this.

I recall that music box song from numerous plays on the radio. Never knew the artist, though. I'm glad Jools and Amy are helping that kind of music to survive.
Oh, yeah. GOOD morning evabodeeee!

@McTag,
Glad that you introduced us to that lady, McTag. Love Letters Straight from the Heart is awesome.

Good morning, edgar, and good afternoon McTag.

Today is Patricia Arquette's birthday and I had no idea about how many great movies she has starred in, y'all. I watch Medium all the time.

@Letty,
Letty's talking to herself again. Maybe it has to do with the fountain of youth.

Today is Ponce de Leon's birthday. Love the city of St. Augustine; Fort Matanzas; the Bridge of Lions (now fallen into disrepair) Matanzas Inlet and the lovely bridge that crosses it. The alligator farm. The massacre of the French.

Here's the blues involving Ponce, y'all.

the man who brought the world the Sex Pistols has died

Malcolm McLaren passed away after a battle with cancer at the age of 64

Born in England, he moved to New York as a young man, working in the fashion industry and managing punk band the New York Dolls, upon his return to Britain he formed the Sex Pistols, he also went on to have a sucessful career as a solo artist and music producer

One of his best known pieces is a collaboration with Yanni that was used as an ad for British Air Ways

@djjd62,
dj, you just saved the day and one that I had rued. Don't know Malcolm McLaren, but I have been doing more research. I most assuredly love Aria on Air, Canada, but afraid that I can't say the same for The Sex Pistols.

I also listened to his mixing of Madame Butterfly's aria, Une Belle De. Fascinating. Thanks for the introduction To Malcolm. I love to learn and the world will miss this creative man.

Perhaps you will recall this lady. Today is her birthday.

Oops, missed our edgar again. Too much divergent thinking.

Will return shortly to acknowledge, Texas.

I had the luck of the Irish today, as a man named Shane repaired my airconditioner and it didn't cost me the proverbial arm and leg.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Loved that Wild Mountain Thyme, Texas. Yes, this lassie will go. So glad that you love a capella now. We'll have to dedicate that to our resident Scott, McTag.

You and dj be sure and listen to Ponce and Sonja. I always like feedback on the songs we play on WA2K

@edgarblythe,
Never heard that one by Willie, edgar. Ah, when I was in Fort Lauderdale, I wanted to take one of those airboat rides, but my room mate was afraid of water.

Remember this one?

Then, of course, there's a song about "never smile at a crocodile."

Good morning, WA2K folks.

Well, I see that our edgar is not a tree hugger. Loved your goodnight song by Marty. Ah, The Red River Valley. Great one, Texas.

Well, our Brit is always gone before we can comment.

He has taken us to Africa and Ireland. Loved all three songs, but especially liked Hindi Zahra and her acoustic guitar.

I guess the kids from Georgia will be here today, along with my daughter.

Let's stick with Africa this morning, shall we?
