@edgarblythe,
Thanking the Brit for the soul music "woosh" song as well.

edgar, I knew almost everything that Astrud did, buddy.

Today is Frankie Laine's birthday, and I had no idea that he wrote this song, Texas.

I first heard it by The Four Freshmen.

Jazz instrumental, y'all, followed by the lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rN6DKTdO5BA&feature=related

No tears, no fears,
remember there's always tomorrow
So what if we have to part,
we'll be together again
Your kiss, your smile,
are memories I'll treasure forever
So try thinking with your heart,
we'll be together again

Times when I know you'll be lonesome,
times when I know you'll be sad
Don't let temptation surround you,
don't let the blues make you bad

Someday, someway,
we both have a lifetime before us
For parting is not good-bye,
we'll be together again

@edgarblythe,
WOW! Tracy Chapman is fantastic, edgar. Love that Fast Car song, buddy.

The Red Violin in totally intriguing. More research, and it seems that the violin made a journey of centuries all over Europe. Stories within stories! Couldn't find anything about the resolution, however. Thanks for the introduction.

Here is another fascinating lady, folks. Today is Norah Jones' birthday, and many of you may know that she is the daughter of Ravi Shankar.

What a talent, and here's a song to prove it.

I didn't realize she was related to the Ravi, letty.
Ravi was a good friend of George Harrison.

Yeah, John and Ravi together, also. Eric Clapton doing great. Hot rod Lincoln is the only song I can associate with Commander Cody.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Gerry and the Pacemakers don't have to worry about the "rosy-fingered dawn" catching me crying. The full moon is once again setting over the intracostal waterway, and it is COLD here. My tears would freeze should I cry.

Here is part of the reason.

Today is Herb Alpert's birthday, so how about a warming trend from him.
