@Izzie,
Dear Izzie. I love Robbie Williams as you know, but Joss Stone is new to me. They were great doing Angels, hun.

Melissa and Joss doing that tribute to Janis Joplin was fantastic.

"...I met a girl who sang the blues and I asked her for some happy news, but she just turned and walked away..(from Don Mclean's reference to Janis)

Thanks for the introduction To Joss Stone.

Have to play another Robbie, y'all.

@Izzie,
Loved Robbie's Feel, Iz, cause I can identify with it. I recently wrote a poem, I Think With My Heart and Not my head.

Will Young's Who Am I was thought provoking as well. I think we have all felt that way at one time or another.

Thinking of this line from Sinatra's My Way. "...regrets, I've had a few but then again too few to mention..."

It was edgar who told me that the lyrics to that song were written by Paul Anka, so I'm saying goodnight with one of his songs, y'all.

Yep, Texas. Tony Martin is still with us.

Wishing you all the best with not too many regrets.

From Letty with Love

Well, I rested by watching Warlock, with Richard Widmark, Henry Fonda, Anthony Quinn and Dorothy Malone. Guess I can make a good night appearance.
I've always been a fan of Paul Anka. And the other music played, I listened to much of it and at least sampled the rest.

@edgarblythe,
Well, WA2K folks, it was another "up all night I could not sleep" night. I think it must have been the magnet of the full moon hanging over the Intracostal Waterway.

Calamity Jane inspired me with Cabrillo National Monument. Fantastic, and Thomas looked great.

Doing more research on Will Young as well. Just as Diana Krall, Michael Buble, and others, it's the old songs that they revive, and that are truly the best.

edgar, You know how I love Ray Charles' What'd I Say, buddy. Sang it and had such fun listening to the folks reply with Hey, hey, etc. It was like an echo in jazz.

Hmmm. Still don't understand the zero thing, Texas.

One of the oldies that Will sang for this early morning, y'all.

Bill Withers.

Also, my niece and my older sister, and I have been exchanging songs that my daddy and mamma sang. I am amazed at what I can remember.

Ain't No Sunshine is the only Bill Withers song I really know. But it's an excellent one.
Roger Miller with a silly song.

Also, John Lennon and Chuck Berry. John was a big Chuck Berry fan.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, you percked me up with Roger and especially Chuck and John. Love that Johnny song, Texas. I was tappin' my toe. Notice how their audience gets down?

Today is this lady's birthday, and I love the lyrics to her song.

@edgarblythe,
Never heard that one, edgar, but it was great. "...gets in the conga line..." I know a song about the Conga. Need to do more research.

Here's another that I don't know, but it's perfect for the afternoon, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! I had no idea that Robert Mitchum could sing. He was terrific, and the song was hilarious. Thanks, Texas, for the smile and the grin.

How about a little paradise, folks.

@edgarblythe,
I don't know, edgar. Think of Paradise lost.

Janis Joplin is so sad to me. She lost it all, Texas.

Today is Dirk Bogarde's birthday, and although I did some research, I can't recall one thing that he did.

Perhaps I saw Song Without End.

There are so many artists who died before their time, whether from drugs, auto accidents or whatever, I don't let it affect my listening habits anymore. Take Dean Martin. People around him said that the primary reason he died was because he lost the will to go on after his son was killed. The music lives on.
