@alex240101,
Well, alex. Good to see you here again. Love your little rhyme.

My hubby's black friend used to say "that old gin'll make you sin."

Surprise, everyone; today is this lovely Irish girls' birthday.

@Rockhead,
Don't ya love Gaelic Storm, Rock? Hmmm, Born to be a Bachelor is great.

Well, here's an oldie that I have been searching for and all I can find is the lyrics, y'all.

Perhaps someone here can provide the song's melody.

I've Got Rings On My Fingers

(F J Barnes, R P Weston)
Now Jim O'Shea was cast away
Upon an Indian Isle
The natives there they liked his hair
They liked his Irish smile
So made him chief Panjandrum
The Nabob of them all
They called him Jij-ji-boo Jhai
And rigged him out so gay
So he wrote to Dublin Bay
To his sweetheart, just to say

Sure, I've got rings on my fingers, bells on my toes
Elephants to ride upon, my little Irish Rose
So come to your Nabob, and next Patrick's Day
Be Mistress Mumbo Jumbo Jij-ji-boo J. O'Shea

Across the sea went Rose Magee
To see her Nabob grand
He sat within his palanquin
And when she kissed his hand
He led her to his harem
Where he had wives galore
She started shedding a tear
Said he, "Now have no fear
I'm keeping these wives here
Just for ornament, my dear"

Sure, I've got rings on my fingers, bells on my toes
Elephants to ride upon, my little Irish Rose
So come to your Nabob, and next Patrick's Day
Be Mistress Mumbo Jumbo Jij-ji-boo J. O'Shea

We always did a St. Patrick's day program at the Presbyterian church, and I can hear the melody in my head.

@edgarblythe,
ah, edgar. That Country Boy by Harry was so serene. Loved the visuals, too, Texas.

Thanks again for listening and commenting on the songs we play here.

I have an sos out to my sister and choir director to find out why I know that one.

Well, for some reason, this brought a tear to my eye. Perhaps it's because my Dave and my mom loved him.

Today's is Nat Cole's birthday; Lena and Perry do such a fantastic job, y'all.

Three of the finest artists of the 230th Century, for sure, letty.

Well, here is a tribute to Sigmund Freud.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! That was a funny one by Harry, edgar. Who would have thought he would have picked Freud to psychoanalyze musically.. Loved it.

Today is John Sebastian's (Lovin Spoonful)birthday. I only remember them doing "What a Day for a Daydream", but I did more research and discovered this.

The Lovin' Spoonful is an American pop rock band of the 1960s, named to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. When asked about his band, leader John Sebastian said it sounded like a combination of "Mississippi John Hurt and Chuck Berry"

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar.

Well, y'all, today is Kurt Russell's birthday and he was in Tombstone as Wyatt Earp.

Here's a memory for that great movie.

@alex240101,
Loved it, alex. Wasn't that a Party? I say as the Irish Rovers knew how to do so.

Thanks, buddy.

Well, Rock, I'm not a daisy, but I loved The One by those Irish folks. Thanks, buddy.

edgar, Thanks for your comment on Kurt Russell' s role in Tombstone.

I never watched Wyatt Earp, I just knew the song.

That Daisy a Day was so great. Don't know Jud Strunk,but I felt it was a great connect to Rock's remark. A wee bit sad, however.

Well, time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with Two songs. First my very favorite Irish song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtCNnyxlJt0

Now, a lovely but sad a capella by three Irish tenors.

Do you suppose the thumbs are green in honor of today?

So nice to have England, Canada, and Australia with us on WA2K.

To everyone, everywhere,

From Letty with love

Is everybody through? The Irish songs have me breathing green and saying Begorrah over and over. And kissing the blarney stone. Mr. Green
