Good morning, WA2K folks

My word, edgar, It's been a long time since I heard anything about "the gay 90's". Hello central give me heaven? I need to look into that era, Texas. Thanks again for the memory jog.

Rock, Patsy Cline's "walking after midnight" is great. Thanks, Kansas.

The tiger is vanishing, y'all. Why isn't something being done?

THE TYGER (from Songs Of Experience)
By William Blake
Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare sieze the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art.
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

It's a wild thing, William.

Song for the morning.

Good morning Ms Letty,Ed,Rock and all the WA2K gang.Busy day for me too.Question-Why did I have to go and collect a parcel from the Post Office when the sender paid for it to be delivered to my door? So angry!
Anyhow,I do like green onions, especially in soup.I also like fried green tomatoes and the smell of coffee....

@McTag,
Well, there are our Brits (one of Scottish descent)

My word, I don't think I saw Fried Green Tomatoes, but love the theme from it.

Didn't know that Johnny and June had sung We Got Married in a Fever. Only heard it by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood. Thanks for that version, Briton Barry.

McTag, Love Manhattan Transfer and that one is fantastic. Never heard Birdland Lugano. Thanks for Operator,Get Me Jesus on the Line. Another new one to me.

This is the BEST version of Moulin Rouge, folks.

And Miss Gabor singing the main song, but I included the complete lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLyKbOtASHA&feature=related

Whenever we kiss,
I worry and wonder,
Your lips may be near,
But where is your heart,
It's always like this,
I worry and wonder,
You're close to me here,
But where is your heart.
.
It's a sad thing to realize,
That you've a heart that never melts,
When we kiss do you close your eyes,
Pretending that I'm someone else.
.
You must break the spell,
This cloud that I'm under,
So please won't you tell,
Darling where is your heart..

@Rockhead,
Hey, Rocky. I know Wildwood Flower. I'm like June; I can remember almost everything beginning at three. Still don't know why I cannot remember learning to read. Thanks, buddy.

Here's one that my mamma loved. She sang bits of it and it enthralled me, y'all.

Incidentally, when everyone gets a chance, check out all of the contributions on our wee cyber radio station.

@Letty,
Dear Letty, Edgar, Baz, Panz, RH et al

Finally, I can post this song.... I don't think anyone has done it yet... Have been waiting for this to come out for Sport Relief

This song can be read a lot of ways... it kinda relates to another thread... I think, when you feel tired about things.

Morning Sun Lyrics

How do you rate the morning sun
After a long and sleepless night
How many stars would you give to the moon?
Do you see those stars from where you are?
Shine on the lost and lonely
The ones who cant get over it

You always wanted more than life
But now you dont have the appetite
In a message to the troubadour
The world don't love you anymore
Tell me how do you rate the morning sun?

Stuck inside the rainbow years
You could happen to be
Cause I've been close to where you are
I drove to places you haven't seen
It all seems so familiar
Like they've been sent to kill'ya

It does'nt take an astronaut
To float into space is just a thought
The morning brings a mystery
The evening makes it history
Tell me how do you rate the morning sun?

And the village drunk
sadly passed away,
It was a shame I never knew his name
I wonder if he sat there every morning
Watched the sunrise

How do you rate the morning sun
It's just to heavy for me
And all I wanted was the world
If you were the star that lit the sun
Don't go wasting your time
Cause there is no finish line
And you don't see anything,
Not even love, not anything,
The night can take the man from you
A sense of wonder overdue
The morning brings a mystery
The evening makes it history

Who am I to rate the morning sun?
Letty

@Izzie,
Beautiful one by Robbie, Iz. Especially liked the last three lines. Wonder if Robbie Williams was referring to Alan Shepard? Thanks, gal, for that lovely question in song.

Hmmm. Then there are several regions of our planet where the nights are six months long. UhOh!

How about this nice Johnny Mercer ballad, y'all.

Wildwood Flower is one of my early favorite songs from back in the fifties. Can't recall the artist from back then.
Almost anything by Marty Robbins is gereat, of course.

@edgarblythe,
As usual, edgar, you listen and watch the songs we play on WA2K. Thanks again.

Really enjoyed Gerry Rafferty's Right Down the Line. Never heard him before.

Ah do I remember Lou doing Richie Valens. We Belong Together is so tender. Dead at 17. <sigh>

Speaking of "lines", here's one by the man in black. (Hope Joaquin Phoenix gets back in line)
