@Rockhead,
Loved your Little Feats, Kansas. Ah, the homonyms of the English language. Happy Sunday to you as well.

Speaking of time, guess what I'm gonna play.

@Rockhead,
Ah, Rockymoose, Love Colour My World. Thanks Kansas.

One of my favorite poets, y'all.

http://www.brooklynmuseum.org/opencollection/images/objects/size3/26.521_transp6195.jpg

and a wonderful poem by him.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

What The Heart Of The Young Man Said To The Psalmist.

Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.

Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each to-morrow
Find us farther than to-day.

Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.

In the world’s broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!

Trust no Future, howe’er pleasant!
Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act," act in the living Present!
Heart within, and God o’erhead!

Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time;

Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o’er life’s solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.

Let us, then, be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.

@edgarblythe,
Hmmm, Don't particularly care for Gula Matari, edgar. Wonder what that expression means?

Today is Les Brown's birthday, so here is one by him, then one by his son.

Look out Bobby Darin.

I prefer Bobby's Mack over any other version. Les Jr is good, but Les Sr is the best.

Latin George, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy? Thought you might be exorcising with St. Francis. Razz Love that Cab Calloway dance and tribute. Thanks, buddy. Perhaps you meant exercising.

edgar, thanks again for acknowledging our contributions. Remember, Just as your marvelous original Domenico Modugno's Volare, Kurt Weill did the original Mack the Knife. Thanks, Texas, love that song in Italian, but you are right. The original by Les Brown is better.

Here's Cab, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
ah, edgar. Jerry Lee and his Boogie Woogie. Love it, Texas.

Today is Michael Caine's birthday, so here is a tribute to him, y'all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-0n9R6Vfvc&NR=1

Sir Michael Caine, CBE (born 14 March 1933) is an English film actor. Caine has appeared in more than 100 films and is one of only two actors to have been nominated for an Academy Award for acting (leading or supporting) in every decade since the 1960s (Jack Nicholson being the other)

He became known for several notable critically acclaimed performances, particularly in films such as Zulu (1964); The Ipcress File (1965) and others as Harry Palmer; the womanising title character in Alfie (1966); The Italian Job (1969); The Battle Of Britain (1969); Get Carter (1971); The Man Who Would Be King (1975); Educating Rita (1983); an Academy Award"winning performance for supporting actor in Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) and The Cider House Rules (1999); as Nigel Powers in the parody Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002); and more recently as Alfred Pennyworth, the butler from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

Caine was knighted in 2000 by Queen Elizabeth II, actually as Sir Maurice Micklewhite, in recognition of his contribution to cinema.

I started noticing Michael Caine in the late 1960s. Always thought he was great.
Well it was 80 degrees today. Soon we will be singing:

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Loved the Too Darned Hot song. Can you believe it's still in the sixties here?

Just watched Kevin Spacey. Love that guy. What I liked the most, is the fact that he laughed. He usually has that enigmatic smile on his face. That was so great.Thanks for the smiles this evening, buddy.

Kevin you are a great talent.

Hey, panz, Hoke. Where you been? I had to drive myself to the sto today.

Saying goodnight with one by Burt, y'all.

Another fantastic talent.
