I believe they used the title Alice in Wonderland because it is better box office than the alternative title.
My wife and I were Freddie Prinz fans.
I like Willie's song.

@Letty,
Quote:
Incidentally, Barry the Brit. I think it was seed who wanted to know why the movie was called Alice in Wonderland when it was really about Alice Through the Looking glass.

Better ask Walt about the title Ms Letty,but my take on it is,have you ever looked at stuff through a looking glass/microscope at every day objects?Sure shows some strange and wonderful things! And with a bit of imagination..............?

Past noon here, and the temp is supposed to be 70 degrees. Can't prove it by me, cause it's COLD out there.

Two songs for the afternoon.

Today is Mickey Dolenz's birthday, and I have always liked this one by him and the Monkees.

And some folk music by Pete Seeger of The Weavers, y'all.

Return to Sender was a big hit when I was in Japan, letty. Heard it and Sukyaki incessantly.
I love that Monkeys music.

@edgarblythe,
Once again, edgar, thanks for expressing your opinions on the music that we play here. That was a great one by Pete. My mom used to play banjo until she got arthritis in her fingers. We jokingly observed that we would get her an electric banjo, and she replied: "Better to get me some electric fingers."

Today is Aidan Quinn's birthday, and I just discovered that he is mostly Irish. I recall him in Legends of the Fall, but I was entranced by the title of this one. The movie took place in Canada and Dublin.

I had no idea that you had been in Japan. Where is my head these days, Texas?

satt fs is a man of many talents. I knew the melody to that Japanese song, but not the lyrics or who sang it. I copied the notes on a virtual keyboard and he sent me the man and the song immediately.

The trailer of the Quinn movie that I mentioned, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
I love Jean by Oliver, edgar. Did you know that Rod McKuen wrote that one?

I didn't think that I liked him, but I've changed my mind.

A tribute to Rod, y'all.

Yes, I know about Rod and Jean. Personally, I like a number of his songs, but don't really listen to his recordings.

@edgarblythe,
I didn't either, edgar.

Today is Cyd Charisse's birthday. As you know she was married to Tony Martin for sixty years.

This is great one by that dancing lady.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzifYs76_DI

and here are the lyrics.

Dancing in the dark `til the tune ends
We`re dancing in the dark and it soon ends
We`re waltzing in the wonder of why we`re here
Time hurries by, we`re here and we`re gone

Looking for the light of a new love
To brighten up the night, i have you love
And we can face the music together
Dancing in the dark

What - though love is old
What - though song is old
Through them we can be young

Hear this heart of mine
Wailin` all the time
Dear one, tell me that we`re one

Looking for the light of a new love
To brighten up the night, i have you love
And we can face the music together
Dancing in the dark, dancing in the dark
Dancing in the dark

@edgarblythe,
I Can't Stop Lovin you was great by Ray, edgar. If a performer can't try all genres, he gets stuck in a rut.

Wow! how did you notice that about Fred.

Another by Ray and Stevie that is quite different.

@edgarblythe,
I love that song by Earl Thomas Conley, edgar, and the visuals were spell binding. We know that he is referring to a rare situation, but when I searched for why a moon is blue, I found all kinds of stuff. When Bud and I sat in the Florida room and watched a blue moon rising over the Atlantic, it was breath taking.

I believe that I go with dust particles in the atmosphere.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with another dance type song.

Sing it Diana.

As always,

From Letty with love
