@edgarblythe,
Oops, edgar. Missed your Donovan's song. Skip Along Same is great Texas, and the mention of honeycomb in his lyrics reminded me of this one.

That version of Change sounds very much like Sam Cooke's version. Very nice.

Oh yeah. Honeycomb. My favorite Jimmy Rodgers song is The World I used to Know. But I love this song too.

Dear Izzie, Loved that one. "...dreaming out Loud.." Never heard One Republic and thanks for the introduction. I watched a brief bit of the Olympics, but when I saw that kid get killed on the luge. I had to get up and leave the room.

edgar, That one by Pink Floyd was great, especially the lyrics.

"...the love of money is the root of all evil..." Read somewhere that a multi millionaire gave all of his money to charity and is living in a small apartment.

Wow, My Little Town by Paul Simon was awesome. The visuals were stark but good. Now, Still Crazy After All these Years is one of my favorites, but I had to smile at the visuals. Funnneeeee. Thanks, Texas.

I remember your having played "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence" by Gene Pitney, so here's a tribute to that gravely voiced villain, Lee Marvin, whose birthday is today.

@edgarblythe,
Hilarious, edgar. Mickey was something else. Thanks, buddy.

Well, Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with Ray Charles. Love this song, y'all.

Good morning, WA2K, Izzie, and edgar.

I love that Co Co Lee song. Wonder if James Taylor can sing it in Mandarin Chinese? Thanks, Texas.

Izzie, I don't know Jason Mraz, but I adored the song "Stop the World".

Inspired by our Izzie, I recall this song for today, y'all.

What a vocalist, and I have never heard him before.

and, a birthday boy, folks.

Had no idea that he starred in the movie adaptaion of Something of Value.

Speaking of movies, TCM had The Fugitive on last week starring Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford. Another adaptation of Les Miserables.

A fine example of Hollywood running out of original ideas.

@Barry The Mod,
Never heard Nowhere to Run by Martha and the Vandellas, Brit. Thanks for the introduction.

You are so right about Hollywood running out of ideas. When I think about Johnny Depp doing Alice in Wonderland, I sorta yawn.

Another fabulous vocalist whose birthday is today, y'all. Nancy Wilson. There's a term for her "talking" part of the lyrics, but I have forgoteen what it's called.

Guess what the song is that is played ala jazz at the end. I know it!

Love her intro.

@Letty,
Good morning, Miss L!

I'm getting a head start on a Bonerama fix. Mr B and I are joining a large number of New Orleans funk music fans tonight for a late night show featuring one of our favorite bands. Showtime is 10:00. My normal bedtime is around 9:30. I think there's a nap in my future.

I have a few Jerry Vale record albums, letty.
I greatly admire Sidney Poitier. First time I ever noticed him was in a WW II movie. I think it was called Red Ball Express. Didn't know who he was until years later.

Over the years I have both enjoyed Nancy Wilson and been bored by her. Lately I like her.

I recall Martha and the Vandellas. I believe I was still in the Navy when that song was released.
Big Fine Woman is pretty enjoyable.
