@edgarblythe,
Hey, Texas. You just saved the day. Thanks for "If I were a Carpenter". Never hear that one that I don't think of this painting.

@edgarblythe,
Blueberry Hill. Love it, edgar, and Billy Preston was a talented kid.

Time for me to turn in, so I'm going to do so with two songs.

First a grown up Billy Preston. Had no idea that he had done this Beatles song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ae3l9dF2UNw

and from the marvelous Mr. Paul Robeson

Hope I get to see the shuttle, y'all.

From Letty with love

For a time, some were calling Billy Preston the Fifth Beatle.
Paul Robeson -That's a great song performed by a great man.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning WA2K and edgar. Thanks for further info about Billy.

Love that one by The Kingston Trio, Texas. Jacques Brel did that one as well. I think it was called Le Moribond.

Speaking of the Beatles, here's one by Singers Unlimited that I really love.

Michelle is a name of one of my grandkids. She was named for me (middle name Mitchell). Not so long after this song was a hit.

Ned Miller does this one. I was partial to the Jim Lowe version.

@edgarblythe,
"every man a king; every woman a queen", know who said that, edgar?

How great that one of your grandkids was named after you.

hmmm, folks, looks as though things are getting better all the time. Buddy Holly inspired the Beatles, incidentally.

JPB, loved both of those songs. Hmmm "To Hear the Rain" and "The River is Wide" Thanks, O squirrely one.

Tai Chi and dj. Welcome back. Good to see you Canadians with us again.

Ah, I loved your song "O Shenandoah by Jane" and dj, is it safe to paint an acoustic guitar? Bud told me that wood needs to breath.

" Magnetic Fields" was fantastic, and I hope Maggie is thrilled.

Well, folks, it's seems that our squirrel has flown and that inspired me to play this one by the Beatles. One of my favorites by them, y'all.

I said grandkid. I meant niece. However, one other of my grandkids is named for me - Jimmy Mitchell.

I was given a box set of the Kingston Trio for Christmas, a year ago. It has everything by them except for a few that are now considered bad taste: Coplas (Mexican Music) and one other the name of which escapes me.

I always like the Beatles, of course.
I recently watched the original film of All the King's Men, loosely based on Huey Long. The ending was much different than in real life, but the film stands up today as good moviemaking.
