@edgarblythe,
Wow! I didn't realize that Victor played Doc Holiday, edgar. As to your trivia, we love that kind of info here. It is great for future references, Texas.

Loved that Dylan song. "Let me Follow you Down" is one that I have never heard before. Thanks for playing it.

Time for me to say goodnight and I think that I shall do so with an answer to Cougat's Brazil.

Do your stuff, "old blue eyes". (this is from some movie that I haven't seen, incidentally)

To all of you,

From Letty with love and a bit of frustration.

Victor as Doc
I made a mistake. Henry Fonda was Wyatt in this film.

Good morning, kids.

edgar, I didn't realize what a fine actor Victor was, buddy. Thanks for that movie clip, and "spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle" is an oldie but goodie. Thanks.

Rockymoose, My word Cowboy Troy doing rap and playing chicken with a train? That was funny. Musicians were good, however. Hope all is well in Kansas.

Today is Gene Hackman's birthday, and he is one fine actor, y'all. The last movie that I saw him in was The Unforgiven. Fantastic villain. Still recall his line, "the duck of death."

Here's a tribute to him.

@edgarblythe,
High Noon here, y'all, and overcast.

Hey, Brit. Love that Tin Soldier. Never heard it before. Thanks. I recall that when I was a kid, I thought that fish and chips meant fish with potato chips. Now I've learned differently. YUM.

Edgar, just saw where Texas was America's fastest growing state. Don't know if that is good or bad. Great version of Doc Holliday, buddy. Burt and Kirk were a great combo.

Somehow, y'all, Barry's "tin soldier" reminded me of:

tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
we're going to Ohio.
Remember the Kent State thing?

Two songs for the afternoon, folks.

First, Phil Collins since it is his birthday.

Now, my favorite Doc in the movie Tombstone.

Here is an interesting bit of trivia:
in 1955, Joel McCrea’s version of Wyatt was released. McCrea was the only man to play Wyatt Earp who actually knew Wyatt. He did extensive research for his 1955 movie and later short-lived television series, Wichita. McCrea was Earp’s personal choice to portray him in a movie if one was ever to be made of his life. In 1939, Randolph Scott had the “official” role of Wyatt Earp in Frontier Marshal by Stuart Lake. This is the film role Wyatt Earp himself wanted Joel McCrea to play.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! That was a marvelous bit of trivia about Joel, edgar. You sent me to the archives again, buddy. I was certain that I had seen him in a movie from out of the past, but didn't notice any. Thanks for that info.

Well, today is FDR's birthday, folks. He was the last president to be elected to four consecutive terms, and WWII was the last war declared by congress.

Here's a tribute to him.

Thinking about birds. I saw a solitary robin in the short brown grass in back of the apartments yesterday.

@edgarblythe,
Strange, edgar. All I saw today were snowy egrets, but earlier there was a plethora of blackbirds.

Liked Blackbird Sittin' in the Dead of Night by the Fab Four, buddy.

I had forgotten what a great voice Julie London has, so here is one by her about the ebony bird, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! I didn't know Jerry Lee did that one. I have only heard it by The Big Bopper. Thanks, Texas.

I'm still thinking about birds, I guess. Y'all remember this one?

@edgarblythe,
Well, Texas, you sent me searching again. Aura Lee was lovely by Eddy Albert. All I can remember by him is Green Acres. Also saw that he starred on the Somerset Maugham theatre. One of my favorites by Maugham was The Luncheon. I think he wrote of Human Bondage as well. Thanks for playing that one by Eddy.

Hmmm, today is Venessa Redgrave's birthday. Had to do some research on her as well.

A tribute, folks.
