@edgarblythe,
That was a great one by The Four Preps. I know they adapted their songs from this one, Texas.

Down by the station
Early in the morning
See the little pufferbellies
Standing in a row

See the little fireman
Turn the little handle
Puff, puff, toot, toot
Off we go!

As usual, I read a lot of Charles Dickens' book when I was a kid, edgar.

Bet you're like this combo, buddy.

I originally heard it by Allan Jones, of course.

Here are a couple of songs, folks. One to match edgar's Jerry Lee and his fancy car, and one to match Rock's Jingle Bells.

Pink Cadillac is okay, but not a favorite.

Timi Yuro wrote this song but did not release it. According to side notes, because she lost her voice.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Never heard of Timi Yuro, edgar, so once again you sent me to the archives. It's Christmas was a great song.

Timi Yuro (born Rosemary Timothy Yuro, August 4, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois - died March 30, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada) was an American soul and R&B singer. She is considered to be one of the first blue-eyed soul stylists of the rock era.

Incidentally, Texas. I didn't much like that one by The Boss either, but Jerry Lee sang it as well. That's why I played it.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think I shall do so with a great one from Disney Studios.

From Letty with love and a hope for a better tomorrow.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, edgar. I heard "the clarion call", and Doris' red, red, robin. No robins here, Texas, but I did see several wide winged predators swooping above my house. Yikes!

Another wonderful discovery, y'all.

Didn't see the movie that featured this song, and of all things it starred David Bowie.

I've listened to many of those radio shows over the years, particularly before TV. I have one CD of radio Christmas, with two pieces by Lionel Barrymore and some by several lesser known stars.

Thanks, dj, for the melting snow video. My daughter and older sister are afraid that when the snow melts, they will have a deluge of water. Wonder if they are building an ark.

John of Virginia, and congrats to your anniversary on A2K. Sorry they both didn't coincide, buddy.

The Christmas Carol was on again at TCM, and this time, it starred George C. Scott.

edgar, I remember that song, Ryuichi Sakamoto. (hope my editor catches any spelling errors) Thanks, Texas. Don't know why I know it, however.

Well, folks. Today is Keifer Sutherland's birthday, so "let him entertain you."
