Good morning, WA2K radio folks.

dj, Thanks for the songs by Belle and Sebastian. Especially enjoyed Autumn Almanac, Canada.

Hey, Brit. Madeline Bell is a gal that I have never heard. She's great. Bryan's Sutton's Supercal was funny.

Yep, I awakened at about three o'clock, and discovered that I was emotionless. Don't know why that should concern me.

edgar, I liked Joe and the Fish. As panz observed, it was a smiler.

Strange, y'all, today is George Patton's birthday. If we are to believe what we read, he loved war and felt he was the reincarnation of the Spartan warrior. If my memory is correct, so did Lawrence of Arabia.

I don't think any of us here glorifies war. As Sherman noted, "War is hell"; however, we do remember those who fought and died since today is Veterans Day.

For them:

So many in our vast audience are veterans.

Good afternoon. On behalf of the veterans, I thank you. Here is Travis Tritt with a bit of foolishness. Non vet related.

@edgarblythe,
Loved that song and the visuals as well, edgar. Well do I remember the original Bonnie and Clyde. Odd, Texas; they mentioned the road to Richmond and I found out that George Patton was from Richmond, Va.

Well, I think it's admirable that President Carter granted amnesty to all the C.O. 's that fled to Canada during the Nam war.

I was thinking today about capital punishment as inspired by John of Virginia.

This movie with Kevin Spacey was excellent and exemplifies my point of view.

@Letty,
There is a Clint Eastwood film similar to that Kevin Spacey film. I watched it a few weeks ago on ION TV. Don't recall the title.

Thanks, letty. I have recently become interested in Eastwood's non western movies. Prior, I had skipped opportunities to watch most of them.

@edgarblythe,
Marty, as usual, sings beautifully, edgar, and I love the idea of the butterfly soaring high without confusion.

Speaking of which, y'all, here's a jazz version of a "poor butterfly" , followed by the operatic version.

First the jazz,

Poor butterfly
'Neath the blossoms waiting.
Poor Butterfly
For she loved him so.

The moments pass into hours.
The hours pass into years.
And as she smiles through her tears,
She murmurs low:

The moon and I know that he'll be faithful
I'm sure he'll come to me by and by.
But if he won't come back then I'll never sigh or cry,
I just must die.
Poor butterfly.

@Letty,
Well, it's not about a butterfly, but it's the next best thing.

JPB , Loved the hummingbird song by Seals and Croft. I am reminded of the trumpet vine on my grape arbor in Virginia when I used to watch them dart in and out of the red flowers.

edgar, I had forgotten about The Reverend Mr. Black. Fabulous, Texas.
