Abba - Thanks for the music, letty.
And rock for Spinal Tap.
They used to show Ricolla ads on local TV, but not in a long time.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I had to check out Henry Gibson, buddy.

panz, that RICOLA wouldn't stop playing. Here's a great version of the real thing.

I'd be coughing as well if I had to blow on one of those "long horns"

Hey, Mooseman. That was supposed to be about Ed Begley; not Christmas. That song you played was a great jazz tune, however

Long horns, but not Texas ones.
Laugh In made Henry Gibson famous, but I like to highlight his other accomplishments too.

@edgarblythe,
Love Tom T Hall, edgar and I just found out that he wrote the lyrics to Harper Valley PTA. Glad you got the pun on the "long horns"

Wow! I am tired, so it's time for me to say goodnight. Wanted to do Brandy since I had a wee snifter tonight. Excellent!

I know I overdo some things, y'all, but it's just my nature, I guess.

My nitey nite song.

Hey, panz. I know that song, and I think it goes way back. One of those that I know and don't know why I know it. I used to think the lyrics read "...still I will get married..."

I always loved Peter Paul and Mary. Sang "If I had a Hammer" on TV.

Just found out that Mary died of leukemia even after a bone marrow transplant. We'll miss you, gal.

Yep, know Where Have All the Flowers Gone, edgar. I was a closet hippie because I was NOT an activist.

Hey, Brit. Welcome back. Blowin in the Wind is another favorite; thanks for the info as well.

Here's another favorite actress of mine, y'all. Today is Anne Bancroft's birthday. Had no idea she was married to Mel Brooks. Read The Turning Point and I know it was about ballet, but don't recall the movie.

Anne was always sorry that she was remembered for The Graduate.

Here's a surprise.

More synchronicity, too.

She starred in the movie about The Hindenburg.

I found this interesting video about that blimp and the Titantic.

@dyslexia,
Strange, dys, I was just thinking of all the times that I've been there for others.

@mismi,
mismi, that was lovely and so is Katharine McPhee. Thanks, honey.

I'm thinking of Santa Tomas E Lucas today, and this guy always reminded me of him so this one is for him wherever he is.

I was about to leave the job today, when they called me into the office to "sign my timesheet." I was met at the door by the staff singing "Happy birthday." We ate pizza and I broke my no sugar rule to have a slice of cake. I was awarded tomorrow off with pay.

From there, I went to McCoy's lumber yard. They had recently been robbed and an employee viciously beaten. It will be a long time before he recovers enough to return to work. I bought a lottery ticket for $20 to help him out. Tomorrow, they will be selling barbecue plates for $5, also for his benefit, so I will be back.

Then I stopped at a used book store to get a John Grisham novel to read. Grisham is generally very good, although some of his stories sag in the middle and I did not like Run Away Jury enough to finish it.
