I love Victor Borge, Aka "The Clown of Denmark" or "The Great Dane". ah, that reminds me of hebba. Hope he is well.
Who else could use the classics to say Happy Birthday.

That morning song hit the spot. After listening to it, I went and had myself a nice nap. Enjoyed the Lone Ranger theme. I too grew up with that program, but it was on the radio and starred Brace Beemer in the leading role.
Here are the Temptations singing Now That You've Won Me.
Victor can be very funny, but it would not work if he were not so accomplished. Very good stuff, letty.
@edgarblythe,
afternoon radio fans. i'm mowing in front of the rain today.

Good afternoon, radio folks.
edgar, you are right about Victor Borge. Only the very talented can get by with parodies.
Really loved the soul brothers. Never heard Now the You've Won Me, but it strikes a familiar chord in my mind
Hey, mooseman. Never heard that one by the Who either. I do recall The Pinball Wizard, however.
As usual, I have been doing some research on The Lone Ranger and Tonto. What a surprise to find that Jay Silverheels was a mohawk.
Jay Silverheels (May 26, 1912 " March 5, 1980) was a Canadian Mohawk Indian and an actor. He was well known for his role as Tonto, the faithful Native American companion of the Lone Ranger in a long-running American television series.
His real name was Harold J. Smith.
I also thought that The Lone Ranger was a real person who cut his mask from his dead brother's vest. Not certain if that's a legend or not.
Here's a bit from the TV series, y'all.

Where is Miss Squirrel?
Let us not forget that The Lone Ranger's Nephew, Dan, was great grandfather to The Green Hornet.

Here are Paul Simon and George Harrison
Here Comes the Sun
@edgarblythe,
Funny, edgar. I remember your having told me that The Flight of the Bumble Bee was the theme to The Green Hornet. More research, and I found that Bruce Lee was Cato in the Green Hornet series.
'Course you already know about The Texas Rangers, right?
Love that one by George and Paul. Rather see the rain than the sun, buddy.
Speaking of Paul Simon, I love this one by Paul and Art.
Here is the poem that inspired it.
Edwin Arlington Robinson. 1869"
Richard Corey
WHENEVER Richard Cory went down town,
We people on the pavement looked at him:
He was a gentleman from sole to crown,
Clean favored, and imperially slim.
And he was always quietly arrayed,
And he was always human when he talked;
But still he fluttered pulses when he said,
"Good-morning," and he glittered when he walked.
And he was rich"yes, richer than a king,
And admirably schooled in every grace:
In fine, we thought that he was everything
To make us wish that we were in his place.
So on we worked, and waited for the light,
And went without the meat, and cursed the bread;
And Richard Cory, one calm summer night,
Went home and put a bullet through his head.

I love both poem and song, letty. Before Paul took the poem in hand, I would never have related it to music.

Nite, panz.
Will be back later with my goodnight song.
I was not familiar with them, panz. Perty good.
@Letty,
Letty, Al Kooper formed Blood Sweat and Tears. He has been with many bands. He was with Bob Dylan on the album, Highway 61 Revisited, which produced Like a Rolling Stone.
@edgarblythe,
My word, edgar, I had no idea. Thanks for that info.
A little more research on the group's name, y'all.
The famous phrase Blood, toil, tears and sweat was originally used by Theodore Roosevelt in an address to the Naval War College on June 2, 1897, following his appointment as Assistant Secretary of the Navy.
However, the phrase became well known after a speech given by Sir Winston Churchill to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom on 13 May 1940. Churchill, a keen soldier, was likely to have read works by Theodore Roosevelt, who was a widely published military historian; it is also possible he read the speech after being appointed First Lord of the Admiralty, a position similar to Roosevelt's. It was Churchill's first speech to the House after taking over as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in the first year of World War II, having replaced Neville Chamberlain on 10 May
So, folks, my goodnight song is my very favorite by Jethro Tull. (love his flute)
