@Izzie,
Izzie, you are just like me. When I get a song stuck in my head, I either call on McTag or JPB. I like that one by Andy, 'cause it's in a minor key.

Here's a surprise, y'all. I never cared for The Four Lads, but they do the jazz harmony in this one.

@Dutchy,
Ah, dutchy. How dear, and that music was awesome. Guess what this is from:

Ah, sleep it is a gentle thing,
Beloved from pole to pole
To Mary queen the praise be given,
She sent the gentle sleep from heaven
That slid into my soul.

edgar, I would like to commend you for commenting on each contribution that is played or talked about on our radio station. Thanks, Texas.

Last evening, I watched an oldie on TCM and I was amazed at the special effects created for that day and time. Still awesome even in this day and time.

I just KNOW that Dutchy can cite the author of that excerpt, folks.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall take another magic carpet ride. Then I shall float off to bed.

So nice to see Australia, Germany, and England with us tonight.

For all of you,

From Letty with love

good morning miss letty.

I'm up late keepin a eye on the place down the road.

thought I would tackle a birthday.

Sept 12. (from wiki)

"Neil Ellwood Peart (pronounced /ˈpɪərt/) OC, (born September 12, 1952) is a Canadian musician and author. He is best-known as the drummer and lyricist for the rock band Rush.

Peart grew up in Port Dalhousie, Ontario, Canada (now part of St. Catharines) working the occasional odd job. However, his true ambition was to become a professional musician. During adolescence, he floated from regional band to regional band and dropped out of high school to pursue a career as a full-time drummer. After a discouraging stint in England to concentrate on his music, Peart returned home, where he joined a local Toronto band, Rush, in the summer of 1974.

Early in his career, Peart's performance style was deeply rooted in hard rock. He drew most of his inspiration from drummers such as Keith Moon and John Bonham."

(he's my favorite breathing drummer)

Good morning, WA2K radio folks

Yep, edgar. Herb did that one as well.

Rock, Love that one, Kansas. Always reminds me of Moon River and Johnny's reference to Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn.

Well, Brit, creativity is both a blessing and a curse. Thanks for reminding me that I know the lyrics to Green Door:

Midnight, one more night without sleeping
Watching til the morning comes creeping
Green door what's that secret you keeping.

I was up late last evening hoping to hear from my daughter, so if I goof, blame it on the green door and the chorus of frogs.

Wow! Love that "instant soul"

Inspired by edgar, here is Herb Alpert.

Guess what, y'all. Today is Barry White's birthday, so the Brit not only owns a record label, he has an imitator.

Incidentally, folks, that excerpt was from S.T. Coleridge.

That's a lot of songs and movies to comment on. Suffice to say, I at least opened them all and listened to part or all of them. Thanks, everybody.

Hey, Brit. Did you slide down the banister? (tried that once and fell off) Glad you're back. That Sail on Sailor by The Beach Boys was unusual and not at all in their regular style. Great, buddy.

I wonder if you and I are talking about the same Phil Collins. The one that I am familiar with plays piano.

Couldn't access your other one as it is not available in America.

edgar, not familiar with Gene Thomas, but those songs we shared with our boyfriend/girlfriend remain in our hearts forever.

Well, y'all, here's the Phil that I remember. It has a special meaning to me as well.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Never heard that one, edgar, but I researched it and came up with this info.

Songfacts: This started as a song for Keith Richard's newborn son Marlon. It was 1969 and Keith regretted that he had to leave his son to go on tour.
Mick Jagger rewrote Keith's lyrics, keeping only the line "Wild horses couldn't drag me away." His rewrite was based on his relationship with Marianne Faithfull, which was disintegrating.
Marianne Faithfull claims "Wild horses couldn't drag me away" was the first thing she said to Mick after she pulled out of a drug-induced coma in 1969.

But you need to decide the meaning of the song that fits to you. Everyone has a different memory of a song and what it may have meant to them. The song is very pretty.

Amen to that interpretation, y'all.

Too bad that so many of our contributors have to work on the weekend, so this is for them.
