I like Chet's singing.
Cher has a Jesse James song, too.

Good morning, WA2K radio folks.

edgar, Thanks for the info on Rusty Draper. Love to learn stuff here. That allusion to Jesse James by Cher was one that I have never heard.

Wow! Glass Poets is a lovely name for a group, and that inspirational song was perfect for today. The visuals were awesome.

"Behold I stand at the door and knock". I will say this for the Baptist Sunday School. It educated one in the Bible.

Hey, Brit. Glad that you liked my mantle clock.

Loved the mix that you played today. The dobro picker; The orthodox Celts; Imogene Heap's Canvas and especially, Mirror Mirror a reflection of Hugh Laurie's House. Odd that as I watch a brief rerun of Dr. House last evening.

Well, folks, there's another full setting moon this early morning, and it's always bewitching. <big smile of remembering>

How about a little jazz this morning, y'all. Here's Bill Evans with a good one.

I have been on the job today. The owner from California wanted to meet with us. So, the owner of the management company decided to meet with us at the same time. I feel stressed. I need to hear Jerry Lee Lewis.

@edgarblythe,
Jerry Lee is, of course, catchy, but you ought to tell them that today is Sunday and a day of rest; It's not Labor Day yet.

How about a "rest" hymn.

@JPB,
Miss squirrel, welcome back. That one by Babs is a new one to me and it is beautiful. Her voice is better than I ever heard it. Her range is also amazing. Thanks for playing it, gal.

Here's one by The Lettermen that matches yours.

@JPB,
I love Try to Remember and I Believe, JPB. Had forgotten The Four Brothers. Thanks, gal.

Did you know that The Lettermen were inspired by The Four Freshmen?

Here's my favorite by them. Can't find, "It Happened Once Before." (Bud introduced them to me)

@Letty,
I'd never heard of the Four Freshmen, Miss L.

There's an annual convention of fans. Here's the group singing "It Happened Once Before"

@JPB,
Well, JPB, the melody and the music are the same, but I think that's where it stops; however, the oriental guy played that trombone nearly as perfectly as the guy who did so in the original Freshmen song. Thanks, gal

Remember when I thought that this was Izzie's song? Had I only know it was in a minor key, I would have guessed Time in a Bottle.

And the lyrics in English.

Joyful, joyful
We adore Thee
God of glory
Lord of love
Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee
Hail Thee to the sun above
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness
Drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness
Fill us with the light of day

With light
With light

Mortals join the mighty chorus
Which the morning stars began
Father love is reigning o'er us
Brother love binds man to man
Ever singing march we onward
Victors in the midst of strife
Joyful music lifts us Son ward
In the triumph song of life

@Barry The Mod,
My word, Brit. Sooooo, T.S. Eliot wrote something that made sense.

The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn't just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
First of all, there's the name that the family use daily,
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James,
Such as Victor or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey--
All of them sensible everyday names.
There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:
Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter--
But all of them sensible everyday names.
But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?
Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum-
Names that never belong to more than one cat.
But above and beyond there's still one name left over,
And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover--
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.
When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
His ineffable effable
Effanineffable
Deep and inscrutable singular Name.
