@edgarblythe,
How odd, y'all. I just got through listening to Marshall Tucker's band doing Fire on the Mountain. I believe I like their version better than The Grateful Dead.

I had no idea that your lady wrote the lyrics for "..And When I Die..." Thanks for that version, edgar, as I just finished listening to David Clayton Thomas do it.

Here's a great one, and I think that we all will enjoy this one.

Pump up the volume, however.

@edgarblythe,
Never heard Townes, edgar, but I just found out that he died of substance abuse.What happens to talented people? Thanks for the song, as carousals go round in circles. Check out what happend to the man who invented the Ferris wheel.

(pssst, how much did you pay dys to say your name?)

Time for me to say goodnight, and I found the oddest song so it shall be my goodnight song, y'all. Notice all the ethnic cultures represented in this one.

From Letty with love and a bit of a cool wind.

I was shocked to find this photo of Jim Garner. I loved him in Maverick, The Americanization of Emily, and three or four other films.

Good morning, WA2K radio.

dys, couldn't get John Prine to play, but "the speed of the sound of lonliness" is an intriguing title.

edgar, love "Festus' " Tumbling Tumbleweed and I recall James Garner in Maverick.

Alex, Welcome back. YIKES! I watched the trailer to "Man on Fire." Gruesome. What is Denzel Washington doing playing those odd roles like Deja Vous and that one.

Hey, Brit. Know every one of those songs, but Milt Jackson was unknown to me and was my favorite. Just found out that he wrote Bag's Groove. Here's another version, y'all.

Don't much care for bebop, and that's why I like this version.

Hope I didn't miss anyone. Didn't sleep too well last evening.

This is from Ralph Sharon, who is best known for his Ralph Sharon Trio, backup for Tony Bennett.

@edgarblythe,
Here are the lyrics to "Just Because", edgar.

Now JUST BECAUSE you think you're so pretty
JUST BECAUSE you think you're so hot
JUST BECAUSE you think you've got something
Nobody else has got
Made me spend all my money
You laugh and call me old Santa Claus
I'm telling you, honey, I'm through with you
Because, JUST BE- CAUSE.

Now, there'll come a time you'll be lonesome
There'll come a time you'll be blue
Old Santa Claus won't be near you
To pay all them bills for you
Made me spend all my money
You laugh and call me old Santa Claus
I'm telling you, honey, I'm through with you
Because, JUST BECAUSE.

How about some Watermelon Man, y'all.

Another hot afternoon and waiting, y'all.

Anyone remember Firestarter the movie? I only recall that George C. Scott was a villain who wanted to see Charlie's (Drew Barrymore) eyes as she died.

Here is grownup Drew, and today is her birthday.

Watermellon Man is always good to listen to. Drew Barrymore I sometimes enjoy, sometimes not. But I always check to see what she is doing.

Got the Butterfield Blues Band here this afternoon, with a song off the East/West album.
