@edgarblythe,
edgar, I think that woman's voice is fabulous, and she knows about smoke rings. Thanks for that song, buddy.

The first time that I ever heard her sing was the ending credits from the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The movie itself was not that good, nor was the book, but the music by Johnny Mercer was captivating. Bud and I sat there as everyone else left the theatre listening to Skylark. Still gives me a thrill.

Well, let's listen to old blue eyes sing this one, y'all. Say what you like about the guy, he is fantastic.

Sinatra is always top notch, letty.
Eddy Arnold was often called the country Sinatra.

@edgarblythe,
ah, edgar. I love that version of Old Faithful, and Eddy Arnold did a great job, buddy. I recall telling Lightwizard that I walked to the show(that's what Mamma called the movies) four or five times to hear Roy Rogers sing that very song.

Here's one by Sir Elton that reminds us of the cowboy movies.

I'm sentimental, if you know what I mean
I love the country but I can't stand the scene.
And I'm neither left or right
I'm just staying home tonight,
getting lost in that hopeless little screen.
But I'm stubborn as those garbage bags
that Time cannot decay,
I'm junk but I'm still holding up
this little wild bouquet:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

Good morning, WA2K. Hey, cowboy, edgar and you, (I think) had to inform me that Leonard was a poet. Read that one twice. Cryptic, wasn't he, but that is what draws us to poetry.

Hey, John of Virginia, welcome back. Yep I sang along with Eddy and Old Faithful. Odd, I was thinking of Charlottesville and Mrs. Anderson who claimed to be Anastasia Romanov. That name is on her grave marker.

Ah, the Brit always wooshes before I arrive.

The Five Keys is familiar to me, buddy and The Glory of Love I DO know.

My, my, my, what a fabulous way Gil Scott has of ranting via the Watergate Blues. Love that one. Thanks.

Never heard Rent's Without You, but it reminds me of Andy Russell from Disney's Make Mine Music. How long ago that has been.

Well, Today is Robert Mitchum's birthday, so here is a tribute to him, y'all.

Can't ignore Mitchum the recording artist. When I was a kid I looked on him as a sort of second class John Wayne.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, edgar. Loved Thunder Road. I believe the last movie in which I saw Robert was Scrooged. He was jitterbugging with his wife.

Well, folks, today is Andy Warhol's birthday. Here is a tribute to him.

And, y'all, a collage/montage.

I once heard someone remark, "Andy had no talent, so he changed the rules."

@edgarblythe,
Well, mooseman, I promise not to say, "..beauty is in the eye of the beholder.." Guess Andy had his fifteen minutes of fame.

edgar, I know that song, but I like to put face to name when I get the chance.

Hey, folks, that hat sorta reminds me of the Brit's.

Really like Gale's voice, and something about her reminds me of Anne Murray.

I was thinking of Otis today, cause I took a look at my neighbor's dock on the Intercostal water way.

For a long time I only knew Otis for two songs. Lately I have found that he covered a lot of material.

I am in a John Lennon frame of mind.
