This is Natalie Cole, who just had a kidney transplant.
I like that bicycle song letty. Listened to it by Englebert many times.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, I had forgotten that Natalie was to have a kidney transplant. Hope she does well, edgar, and I love that song by her, buddy. Nat did it as well.

How about something a little fun, folks. My goodness, they didn't even mention Flip.

@Rockhead,
Hey, Mooseman. Don't think the rappers will have to worry about Debbie. I liked Heart of Glass by Blondie, however.

Here's one for you Rocky II.

That video with Cher, Flip and the gang was good. You don't see stuff like that on TV anymore.

I like several Blondie songs. The Deep Elm Blues is one I know very well, by several artists.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I loved this old man. Kids songs are great. Tried to find the one about "brothers, they make you fight and bitch. Brother they make you throw a fit." That one was to the tune of The Colonel Bogey March, but no luck.

Here are a couple of jazz ballads. One is by Nat Cole, and the other just a piano solo.

See what you think, folks.(love the chord changes on the piano one)

First the piano.

Now, Nat.

@edgarblythe,
I noticed that Johnny Mathis did that one as well, edgar.

Wow! That was a great song by Frankie Laine. Trying to figure out if that was a xylophone or a vibraphone in the background.

Here's a surprise. I was looking for Twilight on the Trail, and who should do a nice job of it but Sam Cook.

So, y'all. This will be my goodnight song.

Sam Cooke had such a fine voice. I have a few 45s by him in a cabinet.

Good morning, WA2K radio folks.

edgar, I like "5oo Miles Away from Home." I hitchhiked once when I was a teenager. Felt safe as I was returning from a swim at a local lake with a big football player.. Thanks for the memory, Texas.

Hey, Rocky. Is that the same Big Bopper who did Chantilly Lace? Wow! he sounds quite different, and I'm surprised that you didn't play, "I heard it Through the Grapevine". <big smile>

My goodness, there's our Brit with Shirley Bassey. That gal was and is great; sorry that I can't say the same for Charlie Darwin, but love his moniker.

Today is Peter Nero's birthday, so let's hear one by that talented pianist. Then we see our art work for today since it's Mary Cassatt's birthday.

First Peter. (Happy Birthday)warming up?

Now Mary.

@Barry The Mod,
I really like Peter, Paul, and Mary, Brit. (very clever, incidentally) Need to do a bit more research on that trio.

Let's make it a quartet and add Ronnie

Thanks for Peter Nero and Ronnie Milsap, letty. Plus, Big Bopper, Peter Paul and Mary, people. Looks like a nice but warm day ahead. Then a long long weekend. Gonna try to spend that time getting something done to the house.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, I wish I had someone here to do my chores. Well, at least it's stopped raining for a while anyway.

Today is Richard Wagner's birthday. Guess what I'm going to play, y'all.

We'll dedicate this to Tom Cruise. Razz
