Good morning, WA2K radio.

edgar, I was just fascinated with Bob's allusion to Cinco de Mayo which will not be celebrated this year because of the flu. Sheeeeeze.

Izzie, welcome back and I loved Diana Reeves version of "It's Wonderful". The tempo change from 4/4 to 3/4 was wonderful in itself. So glad that you are having a good time with that cockney Brit. Give him a hug from all of us here, and include yourself, hun.

Today is Bud's birthday, so here is one from The Four Freshmen. He introduced them at the radio station in Virginia where he worked at the time.

@Letty,
Did you zoom the image? You can then movie 360 deg. around the image and up-and-down, zooming close into the wall and ceiling depot. Click on the hi-res button and you get more detail but it takes longer to load -- I had to go to full screen. The controls are small, at the lower right. Here's the link to the entire series, including the gardens, and other Islamic architecture:

Sorry, this departs from the radio format but couldn't resist as I couldn't show any video from the Decca London recording.

@Lightwizard,
Mr. Wizard, You are not veering away from the radio format. This is Talk radio as well, buddy. Sorry that I couldn't zoom the image. It didn't work for me somehow.

I'll try again later, buddy.

@edgarblythe,
jeez guys , I really overslept due to a late night frenzy on a new musical thread ..an a2k experiment...It was like spinning records in an old radio station with 2 other DJs jockeying for the turntable...a lotto fun...

I hate to repeat but it is springtime and I have to play this tune every year...

gonna dedicate this to Bud...I really missed something when I didn't get to meet you

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, Route 66. Love it and The Freshmen. Thanks, buddy.

Today is Lorie's birthday. I have never heard of her, but she is supposed to be France's answer to Britney Spears. (Bud would like to have met her.)

Love those mammals she's watching, folks.

Ah, panz. That's one of Bud's and my favorites by The Freshman. As you know the Beach Boys did it as well. Thanks, honey.

@Letty,
You have to have standard Quicktime on your computer for it to work.

@Lightwizard,
That explains it, Mr. Wizard. Don't have standard Quicktime.

How long ago you, booman, and I discussed The Freshmen on Ken Burns jazz event. Remember that?

Well, folks, today is Leslie Gore's birthday and this one by her isn't bad.

@Letty,
www.quicktime.com Don't worry -- it doesn't eat up resources. In preferences just uncheck loading the player at start-up. All the really good panoramic virtual reality is Quicktime.

@Letty,
Well, looks as though Letty is talking to herself again.

I keep forgetting that it's Saturday night.

Izzie and Barry the Brit are in London having fun.

Edgar is somewhere in Texas

Rock is working nights

Don't know where the squirrel is

hbg has vanished

The Hawaiian turtle is out somewhere swimming.

Hmmm, time for me to say goodnight and I will do so with another kind of Rock and then some Bert for Mr. and Mrs. hbg

first, the Rock who is a wrestler turned actor and whose birthday is today.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K folks

edgar, My favorite of yours was The Four Aces singing "Written on the Wind." They were really good.

Today is James Brown's birthday, and I checked out his bio. How very sad that he took three breaths and his last words were: I'm leaving now and then he expired.

Heard from my son via telephone last evening. He had great difficulty talking, and I told his male nurse to convey my love for him and tell him not to force talking as it probably was not good for his voice. His mind, however, is quite clear.

Today is Christopher Cross's birthday and this song, Sailing, is lovely.

Thanks, edgar, for keeping us on the air.

@Letty,
My, I haven't pulled out Christopher Cross' CD for years and that will be a chore considering the disarray of my collection. All I can remember is the green jewel box.

When I hear the theme from "Written on the Wind" is immediately brings up the opening credits of that film in my head with the shot of leaves blowing across, I think, a bricked path up to the house where all the drama begins. Dorothy Malone was a much deserved Oscar for her slutty drunk (oh, well, it is a Douglas Sirk movie).
