Good morning WA2K folks.

edgar, great song by Elton Britt. For a moment there I thought you meant another Brit named Elton. Thanks, Texas.

Hey, Brit. Alan Parsons' "Time" was lovely and reminds us that the water measures our goodbyes.

Also loved your selections from The Symphony Site, especially the section featuring the claves and the ocarina. The conductor's explanation about classical was also informative, but I love this statement. How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, man, practice.

The video that accompanied Juan Luis Guerra great Spanish song, was fabulous as well. Thanks for all of your contributions.

Well, today is William Holden's birthday, and I had no idea about the man's death. How sad, folks. Here is a tribute to him.

Nice tribute, letty. Holden would probably have died from liver damage by now, if he had not tripped on that rug.

@edgarblythe,
I didn't realize that W.H. was an alcoholic, edgar. You're probably correct, and maybe that was an easy way to go considering all.

Well, here's one by Elton John on the subject.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! haven't heard Web Pierce in a long time, edgar. I think most people drink to relax their inhibitions, and some do to help them sleep. I recall my pristine grandmother saying, "Well, the Bible says a little wine for the stomach's sake."

Okay, let's switch to a Friday song by David Bowie. Talk about evolution, y'all ,see how he changes?

I like Robinson Crusoe music. I have it playing still as I type. David Bowie is talented and successful, but when I try to listen to his recordings, my mind somehow switches off and I end up not really hearing it.

It's raining like the dickens out there. We often lose power when that happens.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I played Robinson Crusoe because his man was Friday.

Loved that song by Noel Coward, buddy.

Bowie got better as he got older. So did Bob Dylan, I think.

Love this one by Lloyd Price. Have no idea why I know it.

I have a collection of Lloyd Price's songs, letty. That song was one of his biggest sellers. My favorite song he wrote is Lawdy Miss Clawdie, which I played the Elvis version of not long ago.

Listening to Claude's music now.

The rain got in a corner of the kitchen, right where I left off working yesterday, replacing siding. It's dripping over the stove.

@Letty,
That was great! I listened twice. The first time brought my bp down about 20pts, the second almost had me sleeping Smile

Looked out the door at the street. It is almost as dark as night, and the rain is coming in torrents, flooding the water company property next door. I saw a white bird, the kind we often see in cow pastures, standing just off the pavement, with no place to go. As long as nobody runs it over, it is probably safe enough.

It looks there's another strong line of storms about 20mins away from you, edgar.
