@edgarblythe,
Sorry, edgar, neither video worked, but I shall try later.

I never think of St. Patrick's Day that I don't recall River Dance.

Let's hope that both of these work, folks.

First the dance by some chimps.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnjSfekf5sk

Now, the Irish River Dance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W22gpBv00gg&feature=related

Hope this works. I have just had some new equipment installed in our cyber studio.

I don't know if it is my computer or youtube, but the videos aren't playing so well this evening. I did watch the chimps and sent the link to a few friends and family.

@edgarblythe,
Thinking of sglass, Merry Andrew, and the Yitwails tonight, edgar. So glad that the monkeys worked. Hope our puppy will be back with us tomorrow as I know that she will love my goodnight song.

An instrumental, but the lyrics will follow.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hU_hwOD61_w&feature=related

Sweet leilani, heavenly flower oh.
I dreamt of paradise for two.
(My lovely Leilani)
You are my paradise completed.
(My lovely Leilani)
You are my dream come true.

Sweet Leilani, heavenly flower oh,
Tropic skies are jealous while they shine.
(My lovely Leilani)
I think they're jealous of your blue eyes.
(My lovely Leilani)
Jealous because you're mine.

I think they're jealous of your blue eyes.
(My lovely Leilani)
Jealous because your mine.

Sweet leilani, heavenly flower oh,
Nature fashioned roses kissed with dew.
(My lovely Leilani)
And then she placed them in a bower.
(My lovely Leilani)
It was the start of you.
My lovely Lei-lan-i.

Hey, Brit. Missed your Bob Marley contribution. Back after I sleep.

Aloha,

From Letty with love

Good morning, WA2K radio land.

edgar, loved your goodnight song by Buster Brown. "Is You is or Is You Ain't my Baby" played in a major key was quite unusual. Love Judy Collins, and "Some Day Soon" was a great song, Texas. Thanks!

Hey, Brit. Frankie Valli and The Night was perfect. Yeah, night time is the right time, all right.

Cannot believe that I missed the shuttle launch. Riding High was perfect for that event. Never heard Amy Wadge before and every snipet was great. Of course, when I learned that she is from Wales, it all makes sense. Thanks, England.

Let's give our heart a jump start this morning with a great one by Buddy Rich.

Although this version is an instrumental, I found the lyrics among our manuscripts and will list them as well.

Say, have you seen a Carioca?

It's not a foxtrot or a polka

It has a little bit of new rhythm, a blue rhythm that sighs

It has a meter that is tricky

A bit of wicked wacky-wicky

But when you dance it with a new love, there's a true love in her eye

You dream of a new Carioca

Its theme is a kiss and a sigh

You dream of a new Carioca

When music and lights are gone we say goodbye

Two heads together, they say are better than one

Two heads together, that's how the dance is begun

Two arms around you and lips, that's why I'm yours and you are mine

And you are mine

Now that you've done the Carioca

You'll never care to do the Polka

And then you'll realize the blue hula and bamboola are through

Tomorrow morning you'll discover

You're just a Carioca lover

And when you dance it with each new love, there'll be true love just for you

Now you'll dream of a new Carioca

Now you'll dream of a new Carioca

Its theme is a kiss and a sigh

You'll dream of a new Carioca

When music and lights are gone and we're saying goodbye

Goodbye

Good morning WA2k. It's nice to be back. I''ve got a lot of catching up to do here.

You knew I'd love Sweet Leilani, Letty. Thank you.

Ah, The Carioca - from the movie, Flying Down to Rio. - the first time Fred and Ginger danced together. Saw it on TCM recently.

Some March 16 birthdays:

1751 - James Madison, 4th President of the United States (d. 1836) ;1916 - Mercedes McCambridge, American actress (won the 1949 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in All The Kings Men,which won Best Picture for that year; in 1954, she co-starred with Joan Crawford and Sterling Hayden in the offbeat western drama, Johnny Guitar, now regarded as a cult classic. McCambridge and Hayden publicly declared their dislike of Crawford, with McCambridge labeling the film's star "a mean, tipsy, powerful, rotten-egg lady; Oscar nominated for her supporting role in The Giant in 1956; and provided the dubbed-in voice of the demonically possessed character in The Exorcist, acted by Linda Blair) (d. 2004) ; 1926 - Jerry Lewis, American comedian ; 1936 - Fred Neil, American singer-songwriter (d. 2001) ; 1942 - Jerry Jeff Walker, American musician ; 1949 - Erik Estrada, Puerto Rican actor; 1951 - Kate Nelligan, Canadian stage and screen actress (female lead with Frank Langella and Laurence Olivier in Dracula in 1979 , starred opposite fellow countryman Donald Sutherland in Eye of the Needle , a wartime espionage thriller based on the Ken Follett best-selling novel in 1981 and for her performance in the 1991 film, The Prince of Tides, she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress) ; and 1953 - Isabelle Huppert, French actress

My favorite song composed by Fred Neil, although I also love his song, Everybody's Talkin, sung by Nilson in Midnight Cowboy.

Hope today I made up for a little lost time at the station.

Have a good day, all.
Very Happy

@Raggedyaggie,
Hoorah! Our puppy is back. All's right with the world and the radio station.

Thanks, Raggedy , for the trio of notables and the info on the rest. "Flying Down to Rio"? Never saw that one so how did I know the song. Love the Dolphin by Fred, PA. He's right, this old world will never change.

More synchronicity, folks. I was looking at Jerry Lewis and realized that he is still with us. He, too, is a real talent and here is a song by him and Buddy.

You have a nice day, too.

@edgarblythe,
Heh, heh. Yes, edgar, Alvin and the Chipmonks need redemption, Texas. Thanks for keeping us on the air, regardless.

I saw Bird Man of Alcatraz with Burt Lancaster, but I had forgotten it. Searched it out and it was about Robert Stroud. It seems he was in solitary confinement for forty some years and survived .

Love that Jerry Bulter song, incidentally. Great song and great performer.

First,Art Blakey and the jazz messengers. Met him at Birdland.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Loved that one, edgar. That's akin to gospel, Texas. Booker T and the MG's made a good point with the lyrics as well. Then, of course, there are self-serving people, right?

Still love this one, folks, and it's perfect for today.

Ah, I Call Your Name was great, edgar. Gonna say goodnight a little early this evening, and just as the Beatles composed that one, here is one that was done by Mamma Cass but recorded by another.
