Good morning, Double U A2K radio. Razz

edgar, Thanks for Nat's Nature Boy. I think Jo Stafford did a funny about that one.

Wow! Barry the Brit has covered the weekend, y'all. Loved the new approach to Friday the 13th by Boots Randolph. I had forgotten Yakety Sax. Also enjoyed Eddie, The Who, and, of course, Johnny and Kris. Thanks again.

Today is Robhie Williams birthday, and this is a great jazz ballad to begin the day.

@Raggedyaggie,
Thanks, puppy, for returning and telling us about your light plight. Once again, you have done a great job with the lovely septet of famous faces and the additional info. Hope you get a chance to listen to Ava do one of the songs from Showboat, PA. Bell, Book, and Candle was on TCM last evening. Also watched a movie on LMN that was excellent. James Brolin was the only star that I recognized, but the ending was a real shocker. I think it was a true story.

Let's listen to one by Peter Gabriel then. The eyes once again have it, y'all.

We'll dedicate this one to our dj. Razz

Not sure what you mean about Ava, Letty. I've seen that movie several times and have it on VHS. Did you see my comment the other day about Ava's voice being dubbed?

Very Happy

@Letty,
Love it, Letty. Sorry, I didn't see your earlier post. I like the part about her getting royalties for her record. Thanks Very Happy

I just saw a bio about Ava on the Biography channel. It stated that while making "The Bible", she and George C. Scott were an item and he , who was drinking heavily, beat her quite severely one day when they were in her dressing room together. That was the end of that affair.

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. (AP) -- Estelle Bennett, a member of the 1960s singing group The Ronettes, has died. She was 67.

Her brother-in-law Jonathan Greenfield confirmed the death.

Police found Bennett dead in her Englewood apartment on Wednesday
The Ronettes split around 1967 and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

Raggedy, I am glad you told us about Ava and George C., because it sent me to the archives again. The man was a wee bit nuts. As I discussed with edgar, he played bridge with one of Bud's and my colleagues. Bet he cheated. Razz

edgar, I'm not familiar with that trio, but I vaguely recall the song. Sorry about the death of Estelle Bennett. Maybe we can learn more later, Texas.

We'll dedicate this trailer to wandel. He'll love it.( my, I do like to tease folks)

I didn't see the movie, however.

@urs53,
Urs, I love both of your songs, gal. The first one a tender ballad by Vonda Shepard, and the second one absolutely hilarious. May the force be with you and bigdice when you go to hear the boss in July.(just stay away from the tray)

As a matter of fact, here's a song from four American guys, (two of whom had birthdays this month) for you both when you go to the concert.
