The Schnaus music made me think of a movie sound track. Bernadette Peters always surprises me.

Debacle, I really enjoyed that Unexpected Song. Remember the Song Of Bernadette? I'll bet our puppy does. Thanks, Indy.

edgar, I am not familiar with Lucas Foss, but I will wager our Urs is, Texas, and the Psalms were lovely.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do it with a memory. Hope our Panzade is okay. He and I always liked this one, y'all.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

Hey, Brits. Always nice to see and hear you here.

edgar, My word, I had forgotten Richard Boone and that theme song. Thanks, Texas.

Hey, Modman. Love Robbie Williams. He is fantastic and I really like "Have you Met Miss Jones." Great jazz tune. Never heard The Pete Levin band nor jazz Hammond organ either. Great, Brit and thanks.

Izzie, so happy to hear that you are happy. LaLaLa back from the toe tappin' states.

How about one from Jethro Tull for the day, y'all.

Well, folks, I was hoping our puppy would report by now. Hope the weather in PA has moderated and she is able to do her thing.

Today is Felix Mendelssohn's birthday, and among my favorite of his is this wonderful march from A Midsummer Night's Dream. I think it may be because I thought for so long, that it was from Aida. I recall playing it on piano when I was just a child.

Great march to start the afternoon, Letty.

No, the weather has not moderated, and neither have the thousands and thousands and thousands of Pittsburgh Steeler fans welcoming the team home. I don't think a raging blizzard would affect those fans. Happy city today.

@Raggedyaggie,
Welcome back, O Blue One. So, the steelers won, did they? I guess Shamu knew for whom he leapt.

Thanks for the info and the memory of Norman, PA. Love him still.

Hey, I bet Debacle that you would remember The Song of Bernadette. Was I right?

Here's a tribute to someone that I really don't know but I love this song, folks.

James Michener is remembered by me for his marvelous book Hawaii. More later about that man.

I got a song about Pretty Boy Floyd, a man my grandfather went to grade school with. They were not pals or anything.

@edgarblythe,
Hmmm, edgar. Pretty Boy Floyd was the robinhood of the great depression according to Woody's depiction. I recall his role in the movie O Brother Where Art Thou. He didn't like being referred to as "pretty boy".

Well, folks, tried to find a song from the movie Hawaii based on Mitchener's book with no luck.

We'll dedicate this to M.D. and J.M; sglass and M.A.

@edgarblythe,
That's not one of your run of the mill Hawaiian songs, letty. I've never heard any resembling it.

Letty: Of course I remember The Song of Bernadette movie with Jennifer Jones.

And, I love Michener's book, Hawaii - and the Hawaiian song you played.
The theme from the movie, Hawaii, did not sound very Hawaiian, with the exception of drums beating in the beginning. I was so disappointed that the movie only covered a part of the book although the scenery was beautiful. And then I discovered later that the movie "The Hawaiians" with Charlton Heston was it's sequel. It dealt more with the Chinese (leprosy colony, etc. ) I thought it was rather good. Now we need a third one that deals with the Japanese and other ethnic groups. Laughing

@edgarblythe,
Another Oops, edgar. I get all those robbers mixed up. Razz

Found this concerning the vocalist of that Hawaiian song, Texas.

Carleton Lewis Keali inaniaimokuokalani Reichel (born 1961) popularly known as Keali i Reichel, is a popular and bestselling singer, songwriter, choreographer, dancer, chanter, scholar, teacher, and personality from the State of Hawaii. He has spent his life educating the world about Hawaiian culture through music and dance.
Keali i (pronounced Kay-ah-LEE-ee) Reichel was born and raised on the island of Maui. Reichel grew up in the town of Lahaina where he attended Lahainaluna High School, however he spent weekends and summers with his maternal grandmother in the plantation town of Pāia. At the age of 24, Reichel was convicted of theft, and was sentenced to community service, which involved a study of Hawaiian culture. This marked a turning point in his life, as he decided to devote the rest of his life to the study and promotion of Hawaiian culture.
Reichel was one of the founding directors for Punana Leo O Maui, a Hawaiian language immersion pre-school. He has taught Hawaiian culture and language at the University of Hawaiʻi's, Maui Community College, and he was the Cultural Resource Specialist and curator at the Bailey House Museum in Wailuku.

Let's do one from The Birdcage. That was one funny movie, and Gene Hackman was fabulous.

@Raggedyaggie,
Hey, Puppy. You padded in so softly that I missed your contribution. I did a lot of research concerning the actual child who claimed she kept seeing The Virgin Mary, and I just knew you had seen that movie with J.J. I must have read that book at one time or another. Also found out that frankophile means PRO French. Well, that's what we're hear for, folks, to listen and learn.

You're right about the movie Hawaii. I don't even remember much about it. Thanks for that info. Wish they would make part III.
