@djjd62,
dj, I particularly liked this one. I have a friend here whose parents were born in Quebec.

Is this the right Peter Gabriel, Canada?

@djjd62,
Thanks for your verification,dj I just did some research on Alan Alda and found that he and Peter Jennings were close friends. I have never watched the news since Peter died.

This is fabulous, y'all. Alan learning to play the glass harp which was invented by Ben Franklin. Wow! We learn a lot on our wee cyber radio.

Since we have been on the air for more than four years, this may have been done before.

@djjd62,
Yes, dj, you have played a lot of great songs. What is really nice is that we have different countries represented here today. That is why our cyber radio station exists.

Well, folks, here is Pretty Things, and I suppose Dick Taylor is in there somewhere.

@Letty,
well thank you, what i meant to say was i'd played the same song more than once, but we do better than the average radio station where you hear the same songs two or three times a day

i know i've played this tune before, but i like it, so here it is again

Shakespears Sister - Hello (Turn Your Radio On)

la la la life is a strange thing
just when you think you know how to use it it's gone

Eurythmics - Don't Ask Me Why

Annie Lennox has such a beautiful voice, and is such a beautiful woman

here's an interesting fact, many people assumed that Annie Lennox and her partner Dave Stewart (the Guitar Player in the video) were a couple, in reality Stewart was married to the vocalist in the previous video i posted Siobhan Fahey of the band Shakespears Sister

as another aside, a good friend of mine opened for a band called the tourists many years ago, he remembers being less than impressed by them, and was completely blown away when about two years later the guitarist and singer emerged as a musical tour de force called the Eurythmics

@djjd62,
dj, I liked Shakespeare's Sister and it was rather prophetic concerning "life".

Annie Lennox was really great, and who would have guessed that she was Scottish. Ah, yes. Life and Love. Very profound messages to the human race.

Thanks, Canada.

Well, folks, how about a little more Shakespeare.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think I will let Ian Anderson do it for me. I think Bouree is a dance, y'all, but it can also be a place in France. It doesn't matter, 'cause I love his flute.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

dj, I love the lyrics to your song, and the melody is lovely as well, Canada. No, we should never "test" a love. It's either there or it isn't. Thanks, Canada.

dys, Welcome back. The title of your song says so much, and these lyrics struck me as perfect for reflection.

"So I buried my sorrow, my heart, and my key."

A couple of songs for the early morning, y'all.

First another reflection on bouree by Bach, then a tribute to a man who is gone.

@Raggedyaggie,
Dear blue one, thank you again for the get nonet of famous faces. The additional information on others is also intriguing.

Well, this has been a genetic insight morning for me. In looking at Victor mature, I found that he played in Samson and Delilah. Then, surfacing in my mind is a popular song done by edgarblythe that was the same melody as one done by Camille Saint-Saens in the opera. We also learned that a boree(different spellings for different places) refers to a dance such as the Bach example.

dys' Looking Glass reminded me of The Looking Glass Wars and I found it was about Alice in Wonderland. Never read the book and yet, there it was.

So, puppy, seeing Oprah, we must hear this one by a young man who performed on Oprah's show. Whew!

@djjd62,
dj, I had never heard him before, but found that he was addicted to alcohol and drugs. He had his leg amputated as the result of a ruptured cyst. Also unusual, is the fact that he was Scottish, did most of his hits in England, and died in an Irish hospital.

We'll dedicate this to you Canucks who are buried under snow.
