I have been listening to every contribution.

JPB, that melody captivated me, and Yiruma's classical performance was haunting and beautifuf as was he. The lyrics that I found just didn't seem to fit, however. I keep thinking...(something fantasy)

Urs, You're right. When one is down and feeling wet, it is best to be Jack Johnson's Better Together. Thank you, my dear friend. (rather reminds me of "So Happy together")

dj, you never cease to amaze me. Those two songs ala Guided by Voices were perfect, and Mountain Goats have the right idea, Canada. "I'm gonna make it if it kills me."

How about a little more of the classical, folks.

Back later with my goodnight song.

Ah, puppy, thanks once again for the quartet of notables and the background on others. Marvelous, PA.

edgar, Hank Snow, "the singing ranger", is as classic in his own right as is Amadeus. (setanta once told me that the movie was NOT accurate), nevertheless, let's listen to a scene from the movie, y'all.

Soon
Gershwin song.

Set has that photographic memory, letty. When he says something not quite right, he generally is the first one to catch the mistake and correct it.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! I had no idea that Bob had done one of Gershwin's songs. That was great, Texas.

Always liked this one, folks; I thought Ira Gershwin had done the lyrics.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! I didn't know Jo sang that song, Texas. My older sister was in love with Frank Sinatra and I know he also did that one.

Last week I watched three great movies on TCM. Great Expectations which was a rite of passage for Pip, and the Mrs. Havisham thing was scary.(Charles Dickens, of course) Also watched The Rockinghorse Winner. What a sad ending. It was based on a D.H. Lawrence short story.

Peter Sellers also did one of his funny performances as The Pink Panther. Did NOT know that Henry Mancini did that song. Live and Learn on our little cyber radio.

Here is a funny clip from the movie, y'all.

I love Dickens and Lawrence also. Your Pink Panther clip made me want more Henry Mancini. Mancini did hours of music for the Peter Gunn series. Here is a sample.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Peter Gunn. Went to the archives to find this bit of info, edgar.

Craig Stevens (July 8, 1918 " May 10, 2000) was an American motion picture and television actor.
Born Gail Shikles, Jr. in Liberty, Missouri, he studied dentistry at the University of Kansas City. Acting with the university's drama club prompted him to give up on his studies and try to make it in the Hollywood film industry. Adopting the stage name Craig Stevens, he debuted in a small role in 1939 and thereafter played mainly secondary parts. In 1944, he married Canadian actress Alexis Smith to whom he was married for almost fifty years until her death in 1993.
After nearly twenty years in film, in 1958 Craig Stevens gained national prominence for his starring role as the "super-cool" private detective in the trend-setting television series Peter Gunn. The series was produced by Blake Edwards, who also wrote and directed many of the episodes. The theme music for the series was composed by Henry Mancini and helped establish his early fame.

Of course we all know that Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer wrote this one, and I had no idea that Frank Sinatra sang it.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! That was propaganda for WWII. Actually, edgar, it was good. I had no idea that Francis Albert was under surveillance by the FBI for possible ties with the mafia, etc. Thanks for that American bit, Texas.

Speaking of religions, folks, I was searching for a story that our sixth grade teacher read to us at Christmas time. I can remember sitting and listening and crying. We know about O'Henry's Gift of the Magi, but this one is amazing, because we get the picture from a different point of view.

It shall be my goodnight to everyone as well.
